Abstract
This study discusses the implementation of directing techniques in the short film Love Zone, which tells the story of Roji and Naya's struggle for love, hindered by differences in social status and the lack of parental approval. The research problem focuses on how directing techniques are applied in the production of the short film Love Zone. The production process consists of three stages: pre-production, production, and post-production. During the pre-production stage, the director prepared the storyboard, shot list, conducted script reading sessions, casting, and coordinated with the production crew. During the production stage, the director guided the actors, managed blocking, and ensured that the entire production process aligned with the creative vision. In the post-production stage, the director evaluated the recorded footage and supervised the editing process to maintain the continuity of the story and its emotional impact. The results of this project are expected to serve as a reference for Broadcasting students in understanding the application of directing techniques in short film production that effectively conveys messages and emotions. Keywords: directing, short film, director, romantic drama, Love Zone Penelitian ini membahas penerapan teknik penyutradaraan dalam film pendek Love Zone yang mengangkat kisah perjuangan cinta Roji dan Naya yang terhalang oleh perbedaan status sosial dan restu orang tua. Rumusan masalah penelitian ini adalah bagaimana teknik penyutradaraan diterapkan dalam film pendek Love Zone. Proses perancangan dilakukan melalui tahap pra-produksi, produksi, dan pasca-produksi. Pada tahap pra-produksi, sutradara menyusun storyboard, shot list, melakukan reading, casting, dan koordinasi dengan kru. Pada tahap produksi, sutradara mengarahkan aktor, mengatur blocking, serta memastikan seluruh proses berjalan sesuai visi kreatif. Tahap pasca-produksi dilakukan dengan mengevaluasi hasil pengambilan gambar dan mengarahkan proses penyuntingan agar alur cerita dan emosi film tetap terjaga. Hasil perancangan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi mahasiswa Broadcasting dalam memahami penerapan teknik penyutradaraan pada produksi film pendek yang mampu menyampaikan pesan dan emosi secara efektif.
