Abstract

This design project aims to develop an ergonomic cat litter box that is more practical, hygienic, and comfortable for both cat owners and cats as the primary users. The main problems identified in existing litter boxes include awkward bending postures during cleaning, repetitive manual scooping, litter scatter, and systems that do not fully consider user needs and natural cat behavior. The design process included problem identification, data collection, ergonomic analysis, anthropometric analysis, cat behavior analysis, material, color, filtration system, access mechanism analysis, concept development, prototyping, and testing. The final result is SiftNest, a semi-automatic litter box designed with an organic-geometric form, dimensions adapted to Indonesian anthropometric data and cat body sizes, and materials such as PP, ABS, and TPR. The product is also equipped with a sand trap step, a waste drawer, and a modular system to simplify maintenance. Therefore, the final design responds to the need for a more ergonomic, efficient, and modern litter box suitable for contemporary living spaces. Keywords: cat litter box, ergonomics, semi-automatic, anthropometry, product design. Perancangan dilakukan melalui tahap identifikasi masalah, pengumpulan data, analisis ergonomi, antropometri, perilaku kucing, material, warna, sistem penyaringan, mekanisme akses, pengembangan konsep, pembuatan prototipe, dan pengujian.
