Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains a major health concern in DKI Jakarta, with case fluctuations highly influenced by climate variables. Traditional monitoring often leads to delays, reducing the effectiveness of preventive measures. This study aims to classify risk levels and predict DHF incidence trends in DKI Jakarta using a machine learning and time series analysis approach. The research integrates two datasets: DHF epidemiological data comprising 3,168 rows (features: location, number of patients, mortality, and total population) and weather data comprising 2,192 rows (features: minimum temperature, maximum temperature, average temperature, and rainfall). Modeling was conducted using Python, implementing the Random Forest (RF) algorithm for regional risk classification (low, medium, high) and SARIMAX for case trend forecasting with climate exogenous variables. Model validation was evaluated using the holdout method on the last 12 months of data for trend forecasting, and a 80:20 stratified data splitting approach for risk classification. The results indicated that the optimal forecasting model was SARIMAX(1,1,0)x(0,1,1)₁₂ with a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) of 37.13%, projecting a total of approximately 6,144 cases in 2026. Concurrently, the risk classification using RF achieved an accuracy of 0.929, precision of 0.920, recall of 0.929, and an F1-score of 0.923. The integration of epidemiological and climate data proved effective in generating precise risk mapping and trend predictions to support a more efficient DHF early warning system. Keywords: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever, risk classification, prediction, Random Forest, SARIMAX.
