Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology has encouraged companies to transition from manual processes to more structured and integrated information systems. However, PT. Mentaya Sinergi Perkasa still manages its financial data manually using handwritten records and Microsoft Excel. This condition increases the risk of human error and lacks an effective data validation mechanism. This study aims to analyze system requirements, design, and evaluate a REST API-based backend system for financial data management using the Laravel 12 framework. The research employed a qualitative approach through a case study, while the system development process followed the Waterfall methodology, consisting of the analysis, design, implementation, and testing phases. Data were collected through interviews with company representatives and an analysis of the company's financial data. The results of this study produced a REST API-based backend system design, which was subsequently implemented as a validation of the system requirements analysis and design. The designed system includes features such as user authentication, employee management, salary component management, payroll management, branch management, gas cylinder management, asset management, cash source management, operational transaction management, and user management. Black Box Testing demonstrated that all system features functioned according to the specified requirements. Therefore, the developed system can assist the company in managing its financial data in a more structured and integrated manner compared to the previously used manual process. Perkembangan teknologi informasi mendorong perusahaan beralih dari sistem manual menuju sistem yang lebih terstruktur dan terintegrasi. Namun, PT. Mentaya Sinergi Perkasa masih mengelola data keuangannya secara manual melalui buku catatan dan Microsoft Excel, kondisi tersebut berpotensi menimbulkan kesalahan akibat human error serta belum didukung oleh mekanisme vaidasi data yang optimal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis kebutuhan, merancang, dan menguji sistem backend berbasis REST API untuk manajemen data keuangan menggunakan Laravel 12. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif melaui studi kasus, sedangkan proses pengembangan sistem berbasis pada metode Waterfall yang meliputi tahapan analisis, desain, perancangan, serta pengujian. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan analisis dokumen data keuangan perusahaan. Hasil penelitian menghasilkan rancangan sistem backend berbasis REST API yang kemudian diimplementasikan sebagai bentuk validasi terhadap hasil analisis dan perancangan. Sistem tersebut memiliki fitur autentikasi, pengelolaan karyawan, komponen gaji, gaji karyawan, pangkalan, tabung, aset, sumber kas, transaksi operasional, serta manajemen pengguna. Pengujian dengan metode Black Box Testing membuktikan bahwa seluruh fitur pada sistem telah berfungsi sesuai kebutuhan yang ditetapkan. Dengan demikian, sistem yang dikembangkan dapat membantu perusahaan dalam mengelola data keuangan secara lebih terstruktur dan terintegrasi dibandingkan proses yang digunakan sebelumnya.
