Abstract

This research aims to design a fire fighting system for Building C of Universitas Mercu Buana Meruya, a building that currently lacks adequate fire protection. This study addresses the urgent issue of fire safety in buildings, especially those housing laboratories and other high-risk areas. By adhering to international standards such as NFPA and SNI, this research proposes a multi-layered fire protection system. The design encompasses various components including fire hydrant systems and Sprinkler systems. The design methodology employs a detailed analysis of the specific needs of Building C, Universitas Mercu Buana, followed by the selection and design of appropriate fire safety equipment. Hydraulic calculations were performed to determine the required water flow rate and pressure for both the Sprinkler and hydrant systems. Additionally, the study considers the optimal placement of hydrants, detectors, Sprinklers, and other components. The findings of this research provide a blueprint for implementing a robust fire safety system in Building C, significantly enhancing the safety of occupants and property. This design can serve as a valuable reference for future fire safety projects in similar buildings. Keywords : Fire fighting System, indoor hydrant, NFPA, SNI, sprinkler Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang sistem fire fighting untuk Gedung C Universitas Mercu Buana Meruya, sebuah bangunan yang belum memiliki perlindungan kebakaran yang memadai. Studi ini membahas masalah mendesak mengenai keselamatan kebakaran di gedung-gedung, terutama yang menampung laboratorium dan area berisiko tinggi lainnya. Dengan mengikuti standar internasional seperti NFPA dan SNI, penelitian ini mengusulkan sistem perlindungan kebakaran berlapis. Desainnya mencakup berbagai komponen termasuk, sistem indoor hydrant dan sistem sprinkler. Metodologi perencanaan terperinci terhadap kebutuhan spesifik Gedung C Universitas Mercu Buana, diikuti dengan pemilihan dan perancangan peralatan keselamatan kebakaran yang sesuai. Perhitungan hidraulik dilakukan untuk menentukan aliran air dan tekanan yang diperlukan untuk sistem sprinkler. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga mempertimbangkan penempatan yang tepat untuk sprinkler dan komponen lainnya. Temuan-temuan penelitian ini memberikan cetak biru untuk menerapkan sistem keselamatan kebakaran yang kuat di Gedung C, meningkatkan secara signifikan keamanan penghuni dan properti. Desain ini dapat berfungsi sebagai referensi berharga untuk proyek keselamatan kebakaran di gedung-gedung yang serupa di masa depan.
