Abstract
Altruism is very important for social volunteers, especially amid high social problems and economic pressures in big cities. Volunteers in Jakarta need gratitude and empathic concern in order to consistently help others without feeling pressured or sacrificing their own happiness. Psychological factors such as empathic concern and gratitude are seen as internal forces that encourage volunteers to continue their altruistic amid the pressures of life in DKI Jakarta. This study aims to examine Empathic Concern and Gratitude towards Altruism in Social Volunteers in DKI Jakarta. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, obtaining 156 respondents who were Social Volunteers in the DKI Jakarta area. The measurement tools used were the Generative Altruism Scale (GALS), Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI), and Gratitude Questionnaire-6 (GQ-6). The data analysis technique in this study used multiple linear regression. The results showed that empathic concern and gratitude were determining factors for the sustainability of social volunteers' altruism. The findings of this study support the notion that when social volunteers have high levels of empathic concern and gratitude, the simultaneous influence of these two variables contributes significantly to an 86.4% increase in the probability of altruism compared to when these variables stand alone, with the remainder influenced by other variables not examined in this study. Keywords: Empathic Concern, Gratitude, Altruism, Social Volunteers Altruisme sangat penting bagi relawan sosial, terutama di tengah tingginya masalah sosial dan tekanan ekonomi kota besar. Relawan di Jakarta perlu rasa syukur dan kepedulian empatik agar bisa konsisten menolong sesama tanpa harus merasa tertekan atau mengorbankan kebahagiaan dirinya sendiri. Faktor psikologis seperti empathic concern dan rasa syukur dipandang sebagai kekuatan internal yang mendorong relawan untuk tetap melakukan altruisme di tengah tekanan hidup di DKI Jakarta. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji Empathic Concern dan Rasa Syukur terhadap Altruisme pada Relawan Sosial di DKI Jakarta. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling dengan memperoleh 156 responden Relawan Sosial di wilayah DKI Jakarta. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Generative Altruism Scale (GALS), Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI), Gratitude Questionnaire-6 (GQ-6). Teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepedulian empatik (empathic concern) dan rasa syukur merupakan faktor determinan bagi keberlanjutan altruisme relawan sosial. Temuan penelitian ini mendukung bahwa ketika relawan sosial memiliki tingkat empathic concern dan rasa syukur secara bersama-sama, pengaruh simultan kedua variabel tersebut memberikan kontribusi dominan sebesar 86,4%, yang secara signifikan meningkatkan probabilitas munculnya altruisme dibandingkan jika variabel tersebut berdiri sendiri, dan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain yang tidak diteliti.
