Abstract
Academic stress is a common problem experienced by university students, particularly those who are completing their undergraduate thesis, thereby requiring academic hardiness as a form of resilience in dealing with academic stress during the thesis completion process. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the relationship between academic hardiness and academic stress among students who were completing their thesis. This study employed a quantitative method with a correlational design. The research participants consisted of 157 students who were in the process of completing their thesis in DKI Jakarta. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling. The instruments used in this study were the academic hardiness scale and the academic stress scale. The results of the analysis indicated is positive and significant relationship between academic hardiness and academic stress (r = 0.32; p < 0.05). This finding suggests that higher levels of academic hardiness are associated with higher levels of academic stress among students who are completing their thesis. Keywords: academic hardiness, academic stress, university students; thesis Stres akademik merupakan permasalahan yang umum dialami mahasiswa, khususnya mahasiswa yang sedang menyusun tugas akhir, sehingga diperlukan academic hardiness sebagai bentuk ketahanan dalam menghadapi stres akademik selama proses penyusunan tugas akhir. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara academic hardiness dengan stres akademik pada mahasiswa yang sedang menyusun tugas akhir. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 157 mahasiswa yang sedang menyusun tugas akhir di DKI Jakarta. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan acidental sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah skala academic hardiness dan skala stres akademik. Hasil analisis menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara academic hardiness dengan stres akademik (r = 0,32; p < 0,05). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi academic hardiness, semakin tinggi pula stres akademik pada mahasiswa yang sedang menyusun tugas akhir.
