Abstract
This research was conducted with the aim of determining the correlation between father involvement and self-esteem in emerging adulthood. Father involvement is the active participation of a father in raising a child, while self-esteem is an individual's positive evaluation of themselves. This study had 199 respondents and used an accidental sampling technique, with the data then processed using a Pearson correlation test. The results of the Pearson correlation test showed a correlation coefficient of 0.752, which indicates a strong positive relationship between the variables of father involvement and self-esteem. Additionally, the pvalue was less than .001, which means there's a significant effect between the variables. This research demonstrates that a father's active involvement in a child's upbringing will increase the child's self-esteem. Keywords: Father Involvement, Self-esteem, Emerging Adulthood Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi father involvement dengan self-esteem pada dewasa awal. Father Involvement itu sendiri merupakan partisipasi aktif ayah dalam pengasuhan anak, sedangkan self-esteem adalah evaluasi positif individu terhadap dirinya sendiri. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan 199 responden dengan memakai teknik accidental sampling yang kemudian diolah menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson. Hasil dari uji korelasi Pearson didapatkan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0.752 yang mengindikasikan adanya hubungan positif yang kuat antara variabel father involvement dengan selfesteem, serta nilai p-value kurang dari .001 yang memiliki arti bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antar variabel. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ayah yang aktif terlibat dalam pengasuhan anak akan meningkatkan keberhargaan diri anak. Kata Kunci: Father Involvement, Self-esteem, Dewasa Awal
