Abstract

The goal of Bad Pixel's visual identity design was to create a consistent and engaging visual image that reflected their energetic, experimental, and digital-inspired music. In today's internet age, visual branding is crucial for engaging and engaging audiences, especially for indie bands targeting the 17-27 age group. Because Bad Pixel faced challenges with inconsistent visual elements such as logos, colors, and typography, a strong, high-quality visual identity system was necessary. The design utilized Design Thinking, which encompasses the steps of empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. This process created a logo with a glitch and pixel art concept, a futuristic purple-magenta color palette, and dynamic and contemporary sans-serif typography. To determine the effectiveness of the visual communication with the target audience, the design was then tested through various promotional media, such as posters, products, social media, and public exhibitions. The evaluation results showed that Bad Pixel's new visual identity increased audience memorability and emotional engagement while strengthening the band's professional image. This design is expected to be an example of the application of visual branding strategies in the independent music industry in Indonesia. Keywords: Design, Visual Identity, Bad Pixel Tujuan dari desain identitas visual band Bad Pixel adalah untuk menghasilkan citra visual yang konsisten dan menarik yang mencerminkan karakter musik mereka yang enerjik, eksperimental, dan bernuansa digital. Dalam era internet saat ini, visual branding sangat penting untuk membuat audiens terlihat dan tertarik, terutama bagi band indie yang menyasar demografi usia 17 hingga 27 tahun. Karena Bad Pixel Band menghadapi masalah dengan elemen visual yang tidak konsisten seperti logo, warna, dan tipografi, diperlukan sistem identitas visual yang kuat dan berkualitas tinggi. Dalam perancangan ini, Design Thinking digunakan, yang mencakup langkah-langkah empathize, define, ideate, prototype, dan test. Logo dengan konsep glitch dan pixel art, palet warna ungu-magenta yang futuristik, dan tipografi sans-serif yang dinamis dan kontemporer dibuat melalui proses ini. Untuk mengetahui seberapa efektif komunikasi visual terhadap audiens target, perancangan kemudian diuji melalui berbagai media promosi, seperti poster, produk, media sosial, dan pameran publik. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa identitas visual baru band Bad Pixel dapat meningkatkan daya ingat dan keterlibatan emosional audiens sambil memperkuat citra profesional band. Desain ini diharapkan dapat menjadi contoh penerapan strategi branding visual dalam industri musik independen di Indonesia. Kata Kunci : Perancangan, Visual Identity, Bad Pixel
