Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of agile leadership, organizational learning, and social capital on competitive advantage, with sustainable organizational performance acting as a mediating variable in primary schools. The study was conducted because primary schools face intense challenges in maintaining competitiveness, accreditation, and public trust. The research population consisted of 446 principals and vice principals from accredited “A” primary schools, with a sample of 211 respondents determined using Slovin’s formula. The novelty of this study lies in three main aspects: first, it introduces the context of Agile Leadership in the education sector, which remains underexplored despite its importance in the VUCA era; second, it adopts Sustainable Organizational Performance measurement based on the 2024 BAN S/M accreditation standards; and third, it develops an empirical model that integrates Sustainable Organizational Performance as a mediating variable bridging the effects of Agile Leadership, Organizational Learning, and Social Capital on Competitive Advantage. This study extends previous research by emphasizing the context of private primary education, which has rarely been examined from the perspective of strategic management and organizational sustainability. The research was conducted in Jakarta during the 2024/2025 academic year, involving principals and vice principals as key respondents, with data collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through the SEM-PLS method. The findings reveal that agile leadership and social capital have a positive effect on competitive advantage, while organizational learning does not have a direct impact but contributes indirectly through its positive effect on sustainable organizational performance. Furthermore, sustainable organizational performance is confirmed as a key factor that mediates and strengthens school competitiveness, underscoring its strategic importance in sustaining the competitive advantage of primary schools in a dynamic educational environment. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menguji Agile Leadership, Organizational Learning, dan Social Capital terhadap Competitive Advantage, dengan Sustainable Organizational Performance yang bertindak sebagai variabel mediasi di sekolah dasar swasta. Studi ini dilakukan karena sekolah dasar swasta menghadapi tantangan ketat dalam mempertahankan daya saing, akreditasi, dan kepercayaan masyarakat. Populasi studi ini mencakup 446 kepala sekolah dan wakil kepala sekolah dari sekolah dasar swasta berakreditasi A, dengan sampel sebanyak 211 yang ditentukan menggunakan rumus slovin. Kebaruan studi ini terletak dalam tiga aspek, yaitu: mengangkat konteks Agile Leadership di dunia pendidikan, pengukuran variabel Sustainable Organizational Performance disesuaikan dengan standar akreditasi BAN S/M tahun 2024 dan menghadirkan model empiris yang mengintegrasikan peran Sustainable Organizational Performance sebagai variabel mediasi yang menjembatani pengaruh Agile Leadership, Organizational Learning, dan Social Capital terhadap Competitive Advantage. Studi ini memperluas kajian sebelumnya dengan menekankan konteks lembaga pendidikan dasar swasta, yang selama ini masih minim diteliti dalam perspektif manajemen strategis dan keberlanjutan organisasi. Penelitian dilakukan di DKI Jakarta pada tahun ajaran 2024/2025, dengan responden utama kepala sekolah dan wakil kepala sekolah, menggunakan instrumen kuesioner skala likert serta dianalisis dengan metode SEMPLS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Agile Leadership dan Social Capital berpengaruh positif terhadap Competitive Advantage, sementara Organizational Learning tidak berpengaruh langsung tetapi berkontribusi melalui peningkatan Sustainable Organizational Performance. Lebih lanjut, Sustainable Organizational Performance terbukti menjadi faktor kunci yang memediasi dan memperkuat daya saing sekolah, sehingga temuan ini menegaskan bahwa kinerja organisasi berkelanjutan menjadi kunci dalam memperkuat daya saing sekolah dasar swasta di era kompetisi pendidikan saat ini.
