Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership style and work motivation on employee performance at PT Telkom West Jakarta Customer Care Unit. The variables studied include leadership style, which consists of four dimensions: Idealized Influence, Inspirational Leadership, Intellectual Stimulation, and Individualized Consideration; and work motivation, which is divided into Hygiene Factors and Motivational Factors. Employee performance is measured through two dimensions, namely Task Performance and Contextual Performance. This study involves 109 respondents who are employees of PT Telkom West Jakarta, with the sampling technique using accidental sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression to test the simultaneous and partial effects of these variables on employee performance. The results showed that leadership style and work motivation positively and significantly influenced employee performance, with inspiring leadership and individual attention having the greatest impact. Work motivation, both related to hygiene and motivational factors, also proved to improve performance both in task achievement and contextual behavior. Simultaneously, these two variables have a significant effect on employee performance. In conclusion, improving leadership quality and work motivation is crucial in enhancing employee performance in the customer service sector. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan dan motivasi kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan di PT Telkom Jakarta Barat Unit Customer Care. Variabel yang diteliti terdiri dari gaya kepemimpinan yang mencakup empat dimensi: Idealized Influence, Inspirational Leadership, Intellectual Stimulation, dan Individualized Consideration; serta motivasi kerja yang terbagi menjadi Hygiene Factors dan Motivational Factors. Kinerja karyawan diukur melalui dua dimensi, yaitu Task Performance dan Contextual Performance. Penelitian ini melibatkan 109 responden yang merupakan karyawan PT Telkom Jakarta Barat, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan accidental sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis dengan regresi linier berganda untuk menguji pengaruh simultan dan parsial antara variabelvariabel tersebut terhadap kinerja karyawan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gaya kepemimpinan dan motivasi kerja memiliki pengaruh positif yang signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan, dengan gaya kepemimpinan yang menginspirasi dan perhatian individual menunjukkan pengaruh terbesar. Motivasi kerja, baik yang berkaitan dengan faktor higienis maupun motivasional, juga terbukti meningkatkan kinerja baik dalam pencapaian tugas maupun perilaku kontekstual. Secara simultan, kedua variabel ini memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Kesimpulannya, peningkatan kualitas kepemimpinan dan motivasi kerja sangat penting dalam meningkatkan kinerja karyawan di sektor layanan pelanggan.
