Abstract
Sociosexuality correlates with infidelity in terms of someone’s willingness to engage in a relationship without commitment or clarity with multiple partners. Individuals in situationship have characteristics of unrestricted sociosexuality. This study analyzes the relationship between sociosexuality and infidelity in early adults in situationship in Jakarta. This research was conducted using quantitative methods with a correlational research design. Measurements were made using 9 items of the Sociosexuality Orientation Inventory Revised and 14 items of the Intentions Toward Infidelity Scale on 153 respondents selected by accidental sampling method. The data were processed with the Spearman correlation test and found a strong correlation with a positive direction (r = 0.660, p = <0.001). 3 factors of sociosexuality were found to be positively correlated with infidelity, Behavior (r = 0.505, p = < 0.001), Attitude (r = 0.612, p = < 0.001), Desire (r = 0.662, p = < 0.001). Male had significantly higher sociosexuality and infidelity ratings than female. Individuals with a longer duration of situationship had the highest infidelity ratings than other groups significantly. In conclusion, it is known that the higher a person's level of sociosexuality, the higher the tendency of that person to engage in infidelity, in sample of individuals in situationship. Keywords: sociosexuality, infidelity, situationship. Sociosexuality berhubungan dengan infidelity ditinjau dari keluwesan berhubungan tanpa komitmen atau kejelasan dengan beberapa pasangan. Individu dalam hubungan tanpa status memiliki karakteristik unrestricted sociosexuality. Penelitian ini menganalisis hubungan antara Sociosexuality dan Infidelity pada dewasa awal dalam hubungan tanpa status di Jakarta. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian korelasional. Pengukuran dilakukan menggunakan 9 item alat ukur Sociosexuality Orientation Inventory Revised dan 14 item alat ukur Intentions Toward Infidelity Scale pada 153 responden yang dipilih dengan metode accidental sampling. Data diolah dengan uji korelasi spearman dan ditemukan korelasi kuat dengan arah positif (r = 0.660, p = < 0.001). 3 dimensi sociosexuality ditemukan berkorelasi positif dengan infidelity, Behaviour (r = 0.505, p = < 0.001), Attitude (r = 0.612, p = < 0.001), Desire (r = 0.662, p = < 0.001). Laki-laki memiliki peringkat sociosexuality dan infidelity lebih tinggi daripada perempuan secara signifikan. Individu dengan durasi hubungan tanpa status yang lebih lama memiliki tingkat infidelity paling tinggi dibanding kelompok lain secara signifikan. Dari penelitian ini diketahui semakin tinggi tingkat sosioseksualitas seseorang makin tinggi juga kecenderungan orang tersebut untuk terlibat dalam perselingkuhan, pada sampel dalam hubungan tanpa status.
