Abstract
This study explores the impact of work-life balance and compensation on Generation Z employee loyalty in Jakarta, through the role of job satisfaction as an intervening variable. In the context of work, Generation Z is known to have unique characteristics compared to previous generations, such as prioritizing the balance between personal and professional life and demanding proportional compensation. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of work-life balance and compensation on employee loyalty, through considering the role of job satisfaction as a mediator. This study applied a descriptive quantitative approach through an online survey to 209 Generation Z employee respondents in Jakarta from various companies to collect data related to the research topic. The analysis used SmartPLS 3.7 The results showed that work-life balance has a positive and significant effect on the loyalty of Generation Z employees in Jakarta. Compensation also has a positive influence on job satisfaction, but does not directly affect employee loyalty. Job satisfaction is proven to mediate the relationship between work-life balance and employee loyalty, but does not mediate the effect of compensation on loyalty. These results indicate that companies need to pay more attention to work-life balance programs and other aspects that can increase job satisfaction to retain Generation Z employees.
