Abstract

Traditional markets play a crucial role in the regional economy, especially for small and medium-sized traders. However, competition from modern markets offering superior facilities has marginalized traditional markets. The Laris Cibodas Market in Tangerang City exemplifies these challenges. Key issues include ineffective management, inadequate spatial planning, and a lack of architectural attention. This study aims to redesign the Laris Cibodas Market by applying a Neo Vernacular architectural approach to improve comfort, safety, and competitiveness, while preserving local cultural identity. The design process involved a literature review, field observations, and user needs analysis. The proposed design introduces an improved circulation, zoning, and utility system, creating a clean, orderly, and attractive market environment. It is hoped that this revitalization will increase visitor numbers and strengthen the market's position relative to modern markets. In conclusion, thoughtful architectural interventions can revitalize traditional markets, aligning them with contemporary needs without sacrificing their cultural essence. Pasar tradisional memiliki peran penting dalam perekonomian daerah, terutama bagi pedagang kecil dan menengah. Namun, persaingan dengan pasar modern yang menawarkan fasilitas lebih baik menyebabkan pasar tradisional semakin terpinggirkan. Pasar Laris Cibodas di Kota Tangerang merupakan salah satu contoh pasar tradisional yang menghadapi tantangan tersebut. Permasalahan utama di pasar ini meliputi pengelolaan yang tidak efektif, manajemen yang kurang baik, penataan yang tidak memadai, serta kurangnya perhatian terhadap desain arsitektur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang pasar Laris Cibodas dengan pendekatan arsitektur Neo Vernakular yang dapat meningkatkan kenyamanan, keamanan, dan daya saing pasar tradisional tanpa menghilangkan identitas budaya lokal. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur, observasi lapangan, dan analisis kebutuhan pengguna. Hasil dari perancangan ini diharapkan dapat menciptakan suasana pasar yang bersih, tertata rapi, dan nyaman, serta meningkatkan jumlah pengunjung dan daya saing pasar tradisional terhadap pasar modern. Kesimpulannya, dengan pendekatan arsitektur yang tepat, pasar tradisional dapat tetap eksis dan berkembang sesuai dengan kebutuhan masyarakat dan perkembangan zaman. Kata Kunci : Pasar Laris Cibodas, Arsitektur Neo Vernakular, Perancangan Pasar, Identitas Budaya Lokal.
