Abstract
This design project aims to create a promotional media in the form of a company profile video using a motion graphic approach to introduce the identity, services, and programs of Kaiwa JLC—a Japanese language learning center that operates online. Based on observations and interviews, it was found that the existing promotional media were limited and not yet effective in conveying information to potential learners. Therefore, this project was conducted to develop a visual media that is communicative, engaging, and aligned with the institution’s branding. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, involving stages such as brainstorming, mind mapping, moodboarding, scriptwriting, and visual development. The final result is a 2- minute motion graphic video that presents information about the institution’s profile, services, programs, and strengths using Japanese-themed visuals, a mascot character, and bright color tones. Based on the feedback collected from respondents, the video is considered effective in delivering its message, visually appealing, and successful in reinforcing the institution’s professional image. Keywords: Motion Graphic, Company Profile, Kaiwa JLC, Promotional Media, Visual Communication Design Perancangan ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan media promosi berbentuk video company profile dengan pendekatan motion graphic yang mampu memperkenalkan identitas, layanan, dan program dari Kaiwa JLC—sebuah lembaga kursus bahasa Jepang berbasis daring. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara, ditemukan bahwa media promosi yang telah digunakan sebelumnya masih terbatas dan belum mampu menyampaikan informasi secara efektif kepada calon peserta. Oleh karena itu, perancangan ini dilakukan untuk menghadirkan media visual yang komunikatif, menarik, serta sesuai dengan branding lembaga. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan perancangan yang melibatkan tahap brainstorming, mind mapping, moodboard, pembuatan naskah, dan visual development. Hasil akhir berupa video motion graphic berdurasi 2 menit yang menampilkan informasi terkait profil lembaga, layanan, program, serta keunggulan Kaiwa JLC dengan visual yang mengusung tema Jepang, penggunaan karakter maskot, serta tone warna yang cerah. Berdasarkan hasil uji kelayakan melalui feedback dari responden, video ini dinilai telah berhasil menyampaikan pesan secara efektif, menarik secara visual, dan mendukung citra profesional lembaga.
