Abstract
This study aims to determine the standard time in the production process of primer paint products at PT Cat Kapal Indonesia using the work sampling method. The problem faced by the company is the failure to meet production targets due to the absence of an established standard working time. The work sampling method is applied through random observations of operator activities, both productive and non-productive. The collected data is analyzed using data adequacy and consistency tests, along with the calculation of cycle time, normal time, and standard time, taking into account adjustment and allowance factors. The results of the study show that the average standard time per operator is 4.84 hours per batch, which is faster than the average actual production time of 6.3 hours per batch. Based on these data, the productivity of the process can still be improved. Recommendations for improvement include reducing non-productive activities, standardizing work methods, providing operator training, and improving the working environment. With the proper implementation of standard time, the company is expected to increase productivity and work efficiency. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan waktu baku dalam proses pembuatan produk cat primer di PT Cat Kapal Indonesia dengan menggunakan metode work sampling. Permasalahan yang dihadapi perusahaan adalah tidak tercapainya target produksi akibat belum adanya standar waktu kerja yang baku. Metode work sampling diterapkan dengan cara observasi acak terhadap aktivitas operator, baik yang bersifat produktif maupun non-produktif. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis melalui uji kecukupan dan keseragaman data, serta perhitungan waktu siklus, waktu normal, dan waktu baku yang mempertimbangkan faktor penyesuaian dan kelonggaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa waktu baku rata-rata operator adalah 4,84 per batch, lebih cepat dibandingkan rata-rata waktu aktual produksi yaitu 6,3 jam per batch. Berdasarkan data tersebut produktivitas proses masih dapat ditingkatkan. Rekomendasi perbaikan meliputi pengurangan aktivitas nonproduktif, standarisasi metode kerja, pelatihan operator, dan peningkatan kondisi lingkungan kerja. Dengan penerapan waktu baku yang tepat, perusahaan diharapkan dapat meningkatkan produktivitas dan efisiensi kerja. Kata Kunci: Waktu baku, work sampling, efisiensi kerja, cat primer, produktivitas.
