Abstract
The screenwriter plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and writing scripts that serve as the foundation of film production. To create a compelling and emotionally resonant screenplay, a screenwriter must have a deep understanding of story structure, character development, and dramatic elements. In this project, the three-act structure is used as the fundamental framework for storytelling. This approach divides the narrative into three main parts: beginning, middle, and end. The writing process begins with the determination of the idea, theme, storyline, and character development. These elements are then expanded into a basic story, synopsis, and plot treatment to build the narrative in detail. The completed screenplay serves as the main guideline during the film production process. This applied final project aims to convey a meaningful story through the audiovisual medium in the form of a short film. The short film titled Unwritten Feelings is a fictional story that portrays an emotional relationship between Asmara, a novel writer, and Banuata, a blind man who becomes her source of inspiration. Without Banuata’s knowledge, their unspoken bond leads to a profound act of sacrifice when Asmara decides to donate her eyes to him. Through this film, the screenwriter demonstrates her ability to craft a powerful narrative and conduct in-depth research on the chosen theme. Keywords: Screenwriter, Three-Act Structure, Short Film, Unwritten Feelings Penulis skenario memiliki peran penting dalam merancang, mengembangkan, dan menulis naskah yang menjadi fondasi utama dalam proses produksi film. Untuk menghasilkan naskah yang kuat dan menyentuh, seorang penulis skenario perlu memahami struktur cerita, pendalaman karakter, serta elemen dramatik dalam sebuah narasi. Dalam proyek film ini, digunakan struktur tiga babak sebagai kerangka dasar penulisan cerita. Pendekatan ini membagi alur cerita menjadi tiga bagian utama, yaitu pembukaan, pertengahan, dan penutup. Proses penulisan dimulai dari penetapan ide, tema, alur, hingga karakter tokoh. Seluruh gagasan tersebut kemudian dikembangkan menjadi basic story, sinopsis, serta plot treatment guna membangun cerita secara menyeluruh. Naskah yang telah disusun berfungsi sebagai acuan utama dalam produksi film. Tugas akhir aplikatif ini bertujuan untuk menyampaikan sebuah cerita melalui medium audio visual dalam bentuk film pendek yang menyentuh. Film pendek berjudul Unwritten Feelings diangkat dari cerita fiktif yang menggambarkan hubungan emosional antara Asmara, seorang penulis novel, dan Banuata, seorang pria tunanetra yang menjadi inspirasinya. Tanpa sepengetahuan Banuata, Hubungan yang dibangun tanpa pengakuan ini berujung pada pengorbanan besar, ketika Asmara mendonorkan matanya kepada Banuata. Melalui film ini, penulis skenario menunjukkan kemampuannya dalam membangun cerita yang kuat serta melakukan riset mendalam terhadap tema yang diangkat.
