Abstract

Earnings information is an important part of the company's internal and external parties, which makes every company compete to increase profits. Earnings information is very important to be used as the center of attention for investors so that managers will take various ways to present financial statements. For this reason, management knows more about company information than shareholders. Therefore, it results in managers will manipulate financial statements. So, this study was conducted to examine the effect of retun on asset, debt to equity ratio, Company Size, and Investment Opportunity set on Earnings Quality. The population used in this study were all food and beverage sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) with a research period of 5 years, which is from 2019-2023. The sampling method in this study was carried out by using the Purposive Sampling method and obtained 27 companies, with an observation year of 5 years, so the total was 135 observation data. The research method used is causal model research. The type of data used in this study is secondary data. The data analysis method used in this research is multiple linear regression analysis method with the help of IBM SPSS 25 software. The results of this study show that earnings growth has no effect on earnings quality, debt to equity ratio has a positive effect on earnings quality, company size has no effect on earnings quality and investment opportunity set has no effect on earnings quality. Keywords:, Profit Growth, Debt to equity ratio, Company Size, Investment Opportunity Set, Earnings Quality Informasi laba merupakan bagian penting dari pihak internal dan eksternal perusahaan, yang menjadikan setiap perusahaan bersaing untuk meningkatkan laba. Informasi laba sangat penting digunakan sebagai pusat perhatian bagi investor sehingga manajer akan mengambil berbagai cara untuk penyajian laporan keuangan. Untuk itu manajemen lebih luas mengetahui terkait suatu informasi perusahaan dibandingkan dengan pemegang saham. Oleh karena itu, mengakibatkan manajer akan melakukan manipulasi laporan keuangan. Maka, penelitian ini dilakukan guna menguji Pengaruh Pertumbuhan laba, Debt to equity ratio, Ukuran Perusahaan, dan Investment Opportunity set terhadap Kualitas Laba. Populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh perusahaan sub sektor Food and Beverage yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) dengan periode penelitian selama 5 tahun, yaitu dari tahun 2019-2023. Metode pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara menggunakan metode Purposive Sampling dan memperoleh 27 perusahaan, dengan tahun pengamatan 5 tahun, maka jumlah keseluruhan adalah 135 data observasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian model kausal. Jenis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data sekunder. Metode analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan metode analisis regresi linear berganda dengan bantuan software IBM SPSS versi 25. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan laba tidak berpengaruh terhadap kualitas laba, debt to equity ratio berpengaruh positif terhadap kualitas laba, ukuran Perusahaan berpengaruh negatif terhadap kualitas laba dan investment opportunity set tidak berpengaruh terhadap kualitas laba.
