Abstract
Film dokumenter dianggap memiliki muatan kritis dibanding produk komunikasi massa lainnya. Dirty Vote adalah film dokumenter yang dirilis di YouTube @DirtyVote pada 11 Februari 2024. Sebuah karya yang muncul atas kekhawatiran pembusukan demokrasi, dimana kedaulatan rakyat, yang menjadi kenicayaan negara demokrasi, berubah menjadi kekuatan yang termobilisasi untuk kepentingan individu, kelompok bahkan keluarga. Hukum yang seharusnya menjadi pagar pembatas potensi penyalahgunaan kekuasaan dalam konstitusi diabaikan, tidak sedikit dilanggar maupun ditafsirkan sesuai dengan kepentingan kekuasaan. Begitu banyaknya kecurangan menorehkan catatan kusam bagi sejarah Pemilu pasca reformasi. Film bercerita tentang desain kecurangan Pemilu tahun 2024 dengan fokus pada praktik kecurangan yang dianggap merusak nilai-nilai demokrasi. Melalui cerita, Film Dirty Vote karya Dandhy Dwi Laksono ini memperlihatkan bagaimana komunikasi naratif dapat digunakan sebagai alat untuk membongkar kecurangan Pemilu. Fokus dari penelitian ini adalah peneliti ingin melihat, 1) Bagaimana struktur komunikasi naratif yang dibangun di film dokumenter “Dirty Vote” di Youtube Channel dilihat dari teori komunikasi Naratif Walter Fisher?. 2) Seperti apa bentuk narasi kecurangan pemilu dinarasikan dalam film “Dirty Vote”? dan 3) Bagaimana koherensi dan fidelity disajikan dalam film Film Dirty Vote?. Sementaraa tujuan dari penelitian adalah ingin membuktikan pertanyaan diatas, denganan menganalisa secara detil narasi yang disampaikan di film Dirty Vote. Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pisau analisis naratif Walter Fisher yang menekankan bahwa manusia adalah mahluk pencerita, dengan aspek penting rasionalitas yang berdasarkan koherensi dan fidelity. Dari hasil didapatkan, Narasi film, membuktikan terjadinya lima kecuragnan pemilu yang paling banyak ditemukan, yaitu penyalahgunaan wewenang pejabat negara, terkait netralitas pejabat, penyalahgunaan anggaran dan Bansos, penggunaan fasilitas negara dan pelanggaran etika dan hukum oleh lembaga negara. Dari sisi koherensi, urutan peristiwa disusun secara baik. Sementara fidelity dalam film Dirty Vote tergambar dalam narasi yang sesuai dengan kondisi di lapangan. Melalui pendekatan naratif, Dirty Vote berhasil mengubah isu yang kompleks menjadi cerita yang mudah dipahami dan menyentuh sisi emosional penonton. Documentary films are generally regarded as bearing a more critical charge than other mass‐communication products. Dirty Vote is a documentary released on the YouTube channel @DirtyVote on 11 February 2024. It emerged from concerns over the decay of democracy, in which the sovereignty of the people—conceived as the very raison d’être of a democratic state—is being mobilised instead to serve the interests of individuals, groups and even families. The legal safeguards designed to curb potential abuses of power within the constitution have been neglected, frequently violated or interpreted in accordance with those in authority. Such rampant malpractice has left a dismal record on Indonesia’s post-reform electoral history. The film recounts the 2024 election’s rigging framework, focusing on practices deemed inimical to democratic values. Through its narrative, Dandhy Dwi Laksono’s Dirty Vote demonstrates how narrative communication can serve as a tool to expose electoral fraud. The present study seeks to examine, firstly, the narrative-communication structure constructed in the documentary Dirty Vote on YouTube, viewed through Walter Fisher’s Narrative Paradigm; secondly, the manner in which electoral fraud is narrated within Dirty Vote; and thirdly, how coherence and fidelity are presented in the film. The objective is to address these questions by analysing in detail the narrative conveyed in Dirty Vote. Employing a qualitative methodology grounded in Walter Fisher’s narrative-analytical framework—which posits that human beings are storytelling creatures and that rationality rests upon coherence and fidelity—the researcher finds that the film’s narrative substantiates five predominant forms of electoral fraud: the abuse of state officials’ authority, issues of official neutrality, misappropriation of budgets and social-assistance funds, misuse of state facilities, and breaches of ethics and law by state institutions. In terms of coherence, the sequence of events is organised effectively; with regard to fidelity, the film’s narrative aligns convincingly with real-world conditions. By adopting a narrative approach, Dirty Vote succeeds in transforming a complex issue into an accessible story that resonates emotionally with its audience.
