Abstract
The phenomenon of cyberbullying remains prevalent in Indonesian society, especially among students. According to McShane and Von Glinow (as cited in Wibowo, 2014), emotional intelligence is defined as a set of skills that includes the ability to perceive and express emotions, integrate emotions into thinking processes, and understand and relate emotions in oneself and others. Cyberbullying can occur among individuals who know each other as well as among those who do not. Behaviors classified as cyberbullying are often considered more harmful than traditional bullying because victims frequently cannot clearly identify the perpetrators (Hinduja & Patchin, 2014). This study employed a non-probability sampling technique, specifically accidental sampling, with a total of 100 respondents. Data collection was performed using Spearman's correlation statistical technique with the assistance of SPSS 22 software. The data analysis revealed a result of ρ = -0.232, indicating a weak negative relationship between emotional intelligence and the tendency to engage in cyberbullying. Therefore, it can be concluded that higher levels of emotional intelligence are associated with a lower tendency to engage in cyberbullying behavior. KEYWORDS: Emotional Intelligence, Cyberbullying, Students.
