Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui makna denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos yang terdapat pada poster iklan makanan kucing Temptations versi “What can I say? My cats go crazy for all the Temptations treats.” (Analisis Semiotika Roland Barthes). Penelitian ini menggunakan teori analisis semiotika oleh Roland Barthes berupa denotasi, konotasi dan mitos untuk mengetahui makna yang terkandung didalam poster iklan makanan kucing Temptations versi “What can I say? My cats go crazy for all the Temptations treats”. Paradigma penelitian yang digunakan adalah konstruktivis dengan metode penelitian kualitatif studi deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan melakukan observasi mendalam terhadap objek penelitian serta wawancara dengan narasumber yang ahli dalam dunia design dan kreatif. Teknik analisa data yang digunakan adalah peta konsep semiotika Roland Barthes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan makna dalam poster iklan makanan kucing temptations bahwa produk ini bukan hanya makanan, tetapi bentuk kasih sayang, hiburan, dan kepuasan antara manusia dan hewan peliharaannya. Dengan analisis semiotika memiliki pesan penting tentang di mana kebahagiaan kucing dan kepuasan pemilik disatukan melalui satu produk, seolah-olah hubungan tersebut alami dan tak perlu dipertanyakan lagi. The purpose of this research is to understand the denotative, connotative, and mythological meanings found in the Temptations cat food advertisement poster version “What can I say? My cats go crazy for all the Temptations treats”. (Roland Barthes semiotic Analysis). This Research uses Roland Barthes semiotic analysis theory, which includes denotation, connotation, and myth to understand the meaning contained in the Temptations cat food advertisement poster version “What can I say? My cats go crazy for all the Temptations treats”. The research paradigm used is constructivist with a qualitative descriptive study method. The data collection technique was carried out through in-depth observation of the research object and interviews with sources who are experts in the field of design and creativity. The data analysis technique used is Roland Barthes semiotic concept map. The research results show the meaning in the Temptations cat food advertisement poster that this product is not just food, but a form of affection, entertainment, and satisfaction between humans and their pets. With semiotic analysis, it conveys an important message about where the happiness of cats and the satisfaction of their owners are united through a single product, as if that relationship were natural and unquestionable.
