Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between parental interaction and the discipline of early childhood children at School X in South Jakarta. Parental interaction refers to the reciprocal communication process within the context of parenting, which plays a crucial role in shaping children's behavior. This research employed a quantitative correlational method with data collected through questionnaires distributed to respondents. The sample consisted of 148 parents with children aged 2–6 years enrolled in the school. The results of the analysis indicate a significant relationship between the quality of parental interaction and the level of children's discipline. The more responsive, consistent, and positive the interactions parents build with their children, the higher the level of discipline demonstrated by the children. These findings highlight the importance of active parental involvement and quality parenting approaches in developing discipline in early childhood. Keywords: child discipline, parent-child interaction, early childhood Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara interaksi orang tua dengan kedisiplinan anak usia dini di PAUD X Jakarta Selatan. Interaksi orang tua merupakan proses komunikasi timbal balik yang terjadi dalam konteks pengasuhan dan memiliki pengaruh besar terhadap perkembangan perilaku anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelasional dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada responden. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 148 orang tua yang memiliki anak usia 2–6 tahun dan terdaftar di PAUD tersebut. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kualitas interaksi orang tua dengan tingkat kedisiplinan anak usia dini. Semakin responsif, konsisten, dan positif interaksi yang dibangun oleh orang tua, maka semakin tinggi pula tingkat kedisiplinan yang ditunjukkan oleh anak. Temuan ini menunjukkan pentingnya keterlibatan aktif dan pendekatan pengasuhan yang berkualitas dalam membentuk perilaku disiplin pada anak sejak usia dini.
