Abstract

This research aims to determine and analyze the influence of capital structure and company size on profit growth with profitability as an intervening variable. The population that will be used in this research is all food and beverage sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2019-2023 period, namely 32 populations. The samples that will be used in this research are 28 samples of food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2019-2023 period. The sample selection method in this research used a purposive sampling technique. The data collection method uses library study techniques with secondary data, namely data that has been processed or presented and published on the BEI website. The data analysis method uses Multiple Linear Analysis with the help of Eviews 13 software to determine the significance of each dependent variable, independent variable and intervening variable. Based on the analysis results that have been found, it can be seen that capital structure has no effect on profit growth, but has a negative effect on profitability. Company size has no effect on profit growth, but has a positive effect on profitability. Profitability has a positive influence on profit growth and mediates the influence of capital structure and company size on profit growth. Keywords : Capital Structure, Company Size, Profitability, Profit Growth Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis Pengaruh Struktur Modal dan Ukuran Perusahaan terhadap Pertumbuhan Laba dengan Profitabilitas sebagai Variabel Intervening. Populasi yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh perusahaan sub sektor makanan dan minuman yang tercatat di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2019-2023 yaitu sebanyak 32 populasi. Sample yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 28 sampel perusahaan makanan dan minuman yang tercatat di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2019-2023. Metode pemilihan sample dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik studi kepustakaan dengan jenis data sekunder, yaitu data yang telah diolah atau disajikan dan telah di publikasikan di situs BEI. Metode analisi data menggunakan Analisis Linier Berganda dengan bantuan software Eviews 13 untuk mengetahui masing-masing signifikasi antara variabel dependen, variabel independen dan variabel intervening. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang telah ditemukan dapat diketahui bahwa struktur modal tidak berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan laba, namun berpengaruh negatif terhadap profitabilitas. Ukuran perusahaan tidak berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan laba, tetapi berpengaruh positif terhadap profitabilitas. Profitabilitas memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap pertumbuhan laba dan memediasi pengaruh struktur modal serta ukuran perusahaan terhadap pertumbuhan laba.
