Abstract
The phenomenon widely observed on platform X involves users utilizing anonymous accounts. One prominent example is the existence of autobase accounts on X, such as @TUBIRFESS. This study aims to explore the phenomenon of anonymity on social media X among the followers of the @TUBIRFESS account. The research employs Alfred Schutz's phenomenological method, with the subjects being followers of the @TUBIRFESS account. Data collection techniques include interviews with five participants and observations, while the data analysis technique used is Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The study reveals that the use of anonymous accounts on social media, particularly on platform X exemplified by the @TUBIRFESS account, has a significant impact on social interactions and users' freedom of expression. The primary factors driving the use of anonymous accounts include access to novel information, the need for privacy, freedom of expression, and a sense of community and emotional support within anonymous spaces. Anonymous accounts enable users to share their views and experiences more freely without fear of social repercussions, creating a safe space for more open and inclusive discussions. Keywords: Anonymity Phenomenon; Social Media X; @TUBIRFESS. Fenomena yang banyak terjadi di X adalah dimana penggunanya menggunakan akun Anonim. Salah satu contohnya adalah dengan adanya akun autobase di X, sepeti @TUBIRFESS. Penelitian ini bertujuan unutk mengetahui fenomena anonimitas di media sosial X pada pengikut akun @TUBIRFESS. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode fenomenologi menurut Alfred Schurtz, dengan subjek penelitian pengikut dari akun @TUBIRFESS dengan teknik pengumpulan data wawancara dengan 5 narasumber dan observasi, serta teknik analisa data yang digunakan adalah interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA). Penelitian ini mendapatkan hasil bahwa penggunaan akun anonim di media sosial, khususnya pada platform X dengan contoh akun @TUBIRFESS, memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap interaksi sosial dan kebebasan berekspresi pengguna. Faktor utama yang mendorong penggunaan akun anonim meliputi kebaruan informasi, kebutuhan akan privasi, kebebasan berekspresi, serta rasa kebersamaan dan dukungan emosional dalam komunitas anonim. Akun anonim memungkinkan pengguna untuk berbagi pandangan dan pengalaman dengan lebih bebas tanpa takut akan reperkusi sosial, menciptakan ruang aman untuk diskusi yang lebih terbuka dan inklusif.
