Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examines the relationship between empowering leadership and work engagement with Job crafting as a mediator among Gen Z in Indonesia. Given the importance of work engagement and its contribution to organizational performance, this research seeks to determine whether empowering leadership, characterized by the provision of autonomy and support, can create a conducive work environment that enhances engagement and job crafting capabilities among Generation Z. The study employs mediation regression analysis using data from a large sample of Generation Z respondents in Indonesia. The data were analyzed using the PROCESS V.4.2 procedure for SPSS, enabling an in-depth examination of the hypothesized mediation relationships. The measurement instruments used in this study are established scales for measuring empowering leadership, job crafting, and work engagement. The results show that empowering leadership significantly increases work engagement through the mediating role of job crafting. Employees given autonomy and responsibility tend to be more active in job crafting, which in turn enhances their engagement in work.
