Abstract

In modern times, vacations have become a primary need to alleviate stress and fatigue from daily routines. Indonesia, as an archipelagic country with the longest coastline in the world, offers a range of breathtaking beach destinations that are highly sought after by tourists. Pantai Watu Karung in Pacitan, East Java, is a prime example of a standout beach destination. Known for its stunning natural beauty, this beach is surrounded by large rock formations and features pristine white sand and clear blue waters. In addition to its visual allure, Pantai Watu Karung is renowned for its world-class waves, reaching heights of up to 4 meters, making it one of the premier surfing spots globally. This attracts both international and domestic tourists eager to experience its surfing conditions. To support and enhance the existing tourism potential, the development of adequate facilities, such as resorts, is crucial. Resorts serve not only as temporary accommodations but also provide recreational facilities and activities for visitors. Resort design must consider climatic aspects and space efficiency to ensure environmentally friendly and energy-efficient buildings. The use of local materials and optimization of natural resources are key to creating sustainable designs that align with the local character. With the right approach, resort development around Pantai Watu Karung can boost tourist attraction, improve infrastructure, and contribute to local economic growth through the tourism sector. Di era modern ini, liburan telah menjadi kebutuhan primer untuk mengatasi tekanan dan kepenatan dari rutinitas sehari-hari. Indonesia, sebagai negara kepulauan dengan garis pantai terpanjang di dunia, menyajikan beragam destinasi pantai yang mempesona dan sangat dicari oleh wisatawan. Pantai Watu Karung di Pacitan, Jawa Timur, merupakan salah satu contoh destinasi pantai yang menonjol. Dikenal dengan keindahan alamnya yang luar biasa, pantai ini dikelilingi oleh bongkahan batu karang besar dan pasir putih yang bersih, serta air laut yang biru jernih. Selain keindahan visual, Pantai Watu Karung juga terkenal dengan ombaknya yang mencapai ketinggian 4 meter, menjadikannya sebagai salah satu lokasi surfing terbaik di dunia. Hal ini menarik banyak wisatawan internasional dan domestik untuk menikmati aktivitas berselancar. Untuk mendukung dan meningkatkan potensi pariwisata yang ada, pembangunan fasilitas yang memadai, seperti resort, menjadi sangat penting. Resort tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai tempat tinggal sementara tetapi juga menyediakan fasilitas rekreasi dan kegiatan lainnya bagi pengunjung. Perancangan resort harus memperhatikan aspek iklim dan efisiensi ruang untuk memastikan bangunan yang ramah lingkungan dan hemat energi. Penggunaan material lokal dan optimasi sumber daya alam juga menjadi kunci dalam menciptakan desain yang berkelanjutan dan sesuai dengan karakteristik lokal. Dengan pendekatan yang tepat, pembangunan resort di sekitar Pantai Watu Karung dapat meningkatkan daya tarik wisata, memperbaiki infrastruktur, dan berkontribusi pada pertumbuhan ekonomi lokal melalui sektor pariwisata.
