Abstract

This study aims to identify the role of social capital and government support in improving the performance of sustainable rural tourism organizations mediated by entrepreneurial orientation. This study employs an empirical approach, focusing on the Yogyakarta Special Region Province (DIY). This study design employs a mixed-method sequential explanation approach. This study examines the perceptions of 400 managers of rural tourism organizations. This sutudy used structured random sampling to carry out the sample collection. This sutudy used SmartPLS 3.2.9 as a tool to analyze the collected data. This sutudy utilized Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to scrutinize the outcomes of measurement and structural model tests, which examined the impact of social capital and government support on enhancing the performance of sustainable rural tourism organizations through entrepreneurial orientation. The findings show that social capital and entrepreneurial orientation directly have a significant effect on the performance of sustainable rural tourism organizations; however, government support does not have a significant effect on the performance of sustainable rural tourism organizations. Furthermore, the findings demonstrate that both social capital and government support significantly influence entrepreneurial orientation. Furthermore, the findings indicate that entrepreneurial orientation indirectly enhances the impact of social capital and government support on the performance of sustainable rural tourism organizations. This sutudy has given rise to novelty, namely offering a model for improving the performance of sustainable rural tourism organizations with the pentuple bottom line concept. This sutudy has also provided a conceptual contribution, enabling subsequent authors to examine the performance of sustainable tourism village organizations using additional variables. Furthermore, this research has also provided practical operational insights to improve the performance of rural tourism organizations, specifically in DIY Province and more broadly throughout Indonesia and even globally. Keywords: Social capital, Government support, Entrepreneurial orientation, Sustainable performance of rural tourism organizations Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi peran modal sosial dan dukungan pemerintah dalam meningkatkan kinerja organisasi desa wisata bekelanjutan yang dimediasi oleh orientasi kewirausahaan. Penelitian ini adalah studi empiris dengan lokasi penelitian Provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY). Desain penelitian ini adalah mixed method sequential explanatory. Penelitian ini meneliti persepsi 400 pengelola organisasi desa wisata. Pengumpulan sampel dilakukan secara acak terstruktur stratified random sampling. SmartPLS 3.2.9 digunakan sebagai alat untuk menganalisis data yang dikumpulkan. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) digunakan untuk menganalisis hasil uji model pengukuran dan uji model struktural pengaruh dari modal sosial dan dukungan pemerintah dalam meningkatkan kinerja organisasi desa wisata bekelanjutan yang dimediasi oleh orientasi kewirausahaan. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa secara langsung modal sosial dan orientasi kewirausahaan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja organisasi desa wisata berkelanjutan, namun, dukungan pemerintah tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja organisasi desa wisata berkelanjutan. Selanjutnya, temuan juga menunjukkan bahwa modal sosial dan dukungan pemerintah berpengaruh signifikan terhadap orientasi kewirausahaan. Selanjutnya, temuan juga menunjukkan bahwa secara tidak langsung orientasi kewirausahaan berhasil meningkatkan pengaruh modal sosial dan dukungan pemerintah terhadap kinerja organisasi desa wisata berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini telah memunculkan kebaruan (novelty) yaitu menawarkan model peningkatan kinerja organisasi desa wisata berkelanjutan dengan konsep pentuple bottom line. Penelitian ini juga telah memberikan kontribusi konseptual kepada penulis berikutnya untuk meneliti kinerja organisasi desa wisata berkelanjutan menggunakan variabel lain. Selanjutnya, penelitian ini juga telah memberikan wawasan praktis yang bersifat operasional untuk meningkatkan kinerja organisasi desa wisata, secara khusus di Provinsi DIY dan lebih luas lagi seluruh Indonesia bahkan global.
