Abstract

The department responsible for running the storyline is the script writer. The writer is responsible for identifying the plot, synopsis, ideas, and storyline written. Apart from this, implementing the treatment is the next process, where the results of the screenwriter's treatment can connect the story from the beginning to the end. Through treatment, scriptwriters can develop the story to suit the dialogue between characters so that the storyline continues according to the scene. In creating a script, the three-act structure technique is fundamental. Therefore, the author created a storyline using a three-act structure and then implemented it in a thesis entitled implementation of the three-act structure technique in the film Jujut. Jumpa is a short film that has a drama genre, the short film Meeta tells the story of two female students who experience a deadlock in doing their college assignments, and it starts with a senior on campus by their friend, from that introduction, it becomes a bad conflict for the two of them. In this thesis form the author focuses on writing a scenario using a three-act structure properly and correctly with stages that must be sequenced to divide the parts into the storyline. In applying a three-act structure, the author can divide the storyline from introduction, problem, to resolution. This stage makes it easier for the audience to understand the storyline that has been created because of the division of the storyline. Based on the process of creating a scenario for this short film using a three-act structure, it can be concluded: first, applying a three-act structure is an easy technique for dividing the plot. Second, various stages before an orderly scenario. Lastly, active communication between teams is very necessary in film making. Keywords: Scriptwriter, Implementation, Three-act structure, Short film Departemen yang bertanggung jawab atas berjalannya alur cerita adalah penulis naskah. Penulis naskah bertanggung jawab untuk mengidentifikasi plot, sinopsis, ide, dan alur cerita yang ditulis. Selain hal tersebut penerapan treatment merupakan proses selanjutnya, yang dimana hasil dari pembuatan treatment penulis naskah dapat menghubungkan dari awal hingga akhir cerita. Melalui treatment, penulis naskah dapat mengembangkan cerita agar sesuai dengan dialog antar karakter agar alur cerita terus berjalan sesuai dengan adegan. Dalam membuat naskah, teknik struktur tiga babak merupakan hal yang mendasar. Maka dari itu penulis membuat alur cerita menggunakan struktur tiga babak dan kemudian mengimplementasikannya pada skripsi yang berjudul implementasi teknik struktur tiga babak dalam film jumpa. Jumpa merupakan film pendek yang memiliki genre drama, film pendek jumpa bercerita tentang dua seorang mahasiswi yang mengalami kebuntuan dalam mengerjakan tugas kuliahnya, dan diperkenalkan dengan senior di lingkungan kampus oleh temannya, dari perkenalan itulah yang menjadi konflik buruk bagi mereka berdua. Dalam bentuk skripsi ini penulis memfokuskan untuk menulis skenario menggunakan struktur tiga babak secara baik dan benar dengan tahapan-tahapan yang harus dirangkai dalam membagi bagian pada alur cerita. Dalam penerapan struktur tiga babak, penulis dapat membagi alur cerita mulai dari pengenalan, permasalahan, hingga penyelesaian. Dari tahapan tersebut membuat penonton lebih mudah untuk memahami alur cerita yang sudah dibuat karna adanya pembagian alur cerita. Berdasarkan proses pembuatan skenario untuk film pendek ini menggunakan struktur tiga babak dapat disimpulkan: pertama, penerapan struktur tiga babak merupakan teknik yang mudah untuk membagi alur. Kedua, berbagai macam tahapan sebelum skenario yang teratur. Terakhir, komunikasi yang aktif antar tim sangat dibutuhkan dalam pembuatan film.
