Abstract

Films have become a favorite spectacle for people from all groups. Films are included in audio-visual media which are made with the aim of being entertainment media, educational media, politics and propaganda media. One of the films that is shown as a medium for entertainment and education is the film Kidnap. This film tells the story of a mother's struggle to save her child from kidnappers. This research has a category regarding the concept of a mother's struggle based on reference sources consisting of the characteristics of working hard, praying for children, not asking for reciprocation, educating patiently, forming children's personalities, teaching responsibility. In this research, the analysis method uses a constructivist research paradigm using a qualitative research type, a Charles Sanders Pierce model of semiotic analysis approach to analyze iconic signs, indices and symbols. This research has revealed that the film Kidnap has shown a strong meaning about the struggle of a mother who saves her child. In the process, the researcher will connect several scenes that show the struggle of a mother to save her child with the semiotic theory of Charles Sanders Pierce. Judging from Karla's character, it really depicts a mother's struggle for her child, and also illustrates how strong a mother is in facing every problem and obstacle she goes through in her life alone. The results of this research are 13 scenes that show the struggle of a mother to save her child from kidnappers. From the research that has been conducted, researchers draw the conclusion that a mother will do anything for her own child, no matter what obstacles she goes through, a mother will still fight for her child, even with her life. Keywords : Film, Significance, Struggle, Mother, Semiotics Pada saat ini film telah menjadi tontonan favorit masyarakat dari semua golongan. Film termasuk kedalam media audio visual yang dibuat dengan maksud untuk sebagai media hiburan, media edukasi, politik hingga media propaganda. Salah satu film yang menunjukan sebagai media hiburan dan juga edukasi yaitu film Kidnap, film ini menceritakan tentang perjuangan seorang ibu yang menyelamatkan anaknya dari penculik. Penelitian ini memiliki kategori tentang konsep perjuangan seorang ibu berdasarkan sumber referensi yang terdiri dari sifat Bekerja keras, mendoakan anak, tidak meminta balas budi, mendidik dengan sabar, membentuk kepribadian anak, mengajarkan tanggung jawab. Dalam penelitian ini metode analisis dengan paradigma penelitian konstruktivis melalui jenis penelitian kualitatif pendekatan analisis semiotika model Charles Sanders Pierce untuk menganalisis tanda-tanda ikon, indeks dan simbol. Penelitian ini telah mengungkapkan bahwa film Kidnap telah menunjukan makna yang kuat tentang perjuangan seorang ibu yang menyelamatkan anaknya. Dalam prosesnya, peneliti akan menghubungkan beberapa scene yang terdapat dalam yang menunjukan perjuangan seorang ibu yang menyelamatkan anaknya tersebut dengan teori semiotika Charles Sanders Pierce. Dilihat dari karakter Karla sangat menggambarkan perjuangan seorang ibu untuk anaknya, dan juga menggambarkan bagaimana kuatnya seorang ibu dalam menghadapi setiap masalah dan juga rintangan yang dilalui dalam hidupnya seorang diri. Hasil dari penelitian ini terdapat 13 scene yang menunjukan perjuangan seorang ibu yang menyelamatkan anaknya dari penculik. Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan, peneliti menarik kesimpulan bahwa seorang ibu akan melakukan segala cara untuk anaknya sendiri, tidak peduli rintangan apapun yang dia lewati seorang ibu akan tetap memperjuangkan itu demi anaknya, bahkan dengan nyawanya sekalipun.
