Abstract

The development of technology, especially the internet, has enabled humans to communicate without the limitations of space and time. Personal and group interactions can be established through communities. At first the community was only formed face to face, but technology has become more advanced so that a virtual community has emerged. All forms of activity can be formed without face to face contact. The Skin Game Warrior Community is a virtual community that opens up space to search for information and make social contacts in cyberspace. The purpose of this research is to determine the communication activities of the Skin Game Warrior community in providing education. This research uses a qualitative, descriptive approach based on Hymes concept of communication activities, then the post-positivism paradigm. Data collection techniques used indepth interviews and observation. The research subjects consisted of 1 key informant as a Community Specialist and 3 informants who were active members of the Skin Game Warrior community. The results of research from a beauty brand regarding communication activities in the Skin Game Warrior community show that the educational activities provided are intense where key informants can ensure that routine activities are carried out every month so that informants can implement education held online and offline events using verbal and nonverbal actions. based on communicative situation units, communicative events and communicative actions in the Skin Game Warrior community. Keyword : Community, Communication Activities, Education, Skin Game Warrior, Instagram, Social Media Perkembangan teknologi khususnya internet, telah memungkinkan manusia untuk berkomunikasi tanpa batasan ruang dan waktu. Interaksi personal maupun kelompok dapat terjalin melalui komunitas. Pada awalnya komunitas hanya terbentuk secara tatap muka, namun teknologi semakin maju sehingga muncul sebuah komunitas virtual. Segala bentuk aktivitas tersebut memungkinkan terbentuk tanpa tatap muka. Komunitas Skin Game Warrior merupakan sebuah komunitas virtual yang membuka ruang untuk mencari informasi dan melakukan kontak sosial di dunia maya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui aktivitas komunikasi dari komunitas Skin Game Warrior dalam memberikan edukasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif bersifat deskriptif dengan berlandaskan konsep aktivitas komunikasi Hymes, lalu paradigma post-positivisme. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan wawancara mendalam dan observasi. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 1 key informan selaku Community Specialist dan 3 informan merupakan anggota aktif komunitas Skin Game Warrior. Hasil penelitian dari sebuah merek kecantikan mengenai aktivitas komunikasi pada komunitas Skin Game Warrior menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas edukasi yang diberikan bersifat intens dimana key informan dapat memastikan bahwa kegiatan rutin dilakukan dalam perbulannya sehingga informan dapat mengimplementasikan edukasi yang diadakan secara online dan offline event secara tindakan verbal dan nonverbal berdasarkan unit situasi komunikatif, peristiwa komunikatif dan tindakan komunikatif pada komunitas Skin Game Warrior.
