Abstract

Film is an audio-visual communication medium to convey a message to a group of people gathered in a certain place. The author as a Video Editor implements the Cut Aways technique as the main theory. Video editor is a profession that has a role to collect, select, manage a number of existing videos into one unit. The video material taken includes interviews, sound effects, dialog, footage, and others. This is done by combining, trimming, and building. This can be seen from the beginning of the editing process or what is called offline editing. Then the editing technique used in the Acara Sepekan news program is a nonlinear editing technique. This is clearly seen from a video editor starting his work, where the video editor moves video and audio from the recorder to the computer hard disk to the rendering stage. Keywords: Documentary Film, Video Editor, Cut Aways Film adalah media komunikasi yang bersifat audio visual untuk menyampaikan suatu pesan kepada sekelompok orang yang berkumpul di suatu tempat tertentu. penulis sebagai Video Editor mengimplementasikan tehnik Cut Aways sebagai teori utama. Video editor adalah sebuah profesi yang memiliki peran untuk mengumpulkan, memilih, mengelola sejumlah video yang telah ada menjadi satu kesatuan. Materi video yang diambil meliputi wawancara, efek suara, dialog, footage, dan lainnya. menggabungkan (combine), memotong (trim), merancang (build). Ini dapat dilihat dari awal proses pengeditan atau yang dinamakan dengan offline editing. Kemudian teknik editing yang digunakan dalam program berita Peristiwa Sepekan adalah teknik editing nonlinear. Ini jelas terlihat dari seorang video editor memulai pekerjaanya, dimana editor video memindahkan video dan audio dari perekam kedalam hard disk komputer sampai pada tahap rendering.
