Abstract

Harga diri merupakan salah satu faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi kinerja karyawan. Pesatnya pertumbuhan ekonomi di Indonesia membuat PT. Bank Mayapada Internasional, Tbk ikut berkembang mengikuti pertumbuhan ekonomi yang ada. Namun ini tidak disertai dengan pertambahan karyawan di perusahaan, hal ini membuat peneliti tertarik untuk melihat adakah pengaruh self esteem terhadap kinerja karyawan PT. Bank Mayapada Internasional, Tbk. Peneliti menyebarkan kuesioner kepada 185 responden (laki-laki=87, perempuan=98), responden adalah karyawan PT. Bank Mayapada Internasional, Tbk yang memiliki masa kerja lebih dari satu tahun. Self esteem diukur menggunakan alat ukur yang dikembangkan Heatherton & Polivy (1991) dengan aspek Performance Self Esteem, Social Self Esteem, dan Physical Self Esteem. Kinerja diukur menggunakan alat ukur yang diadaptasi dari Manurung (2011). Dari uji regresi linear berganda didapatkan bahwa ada tidak ada pengaruh Performance Self Esteem, Social Self Esteem,dan Physical Self Esteem terhadap kinerja karyawan karena memiliki nilai signifikan > 0,05Self esteem is one of the factor that can affect the job performance. Rapid econimic growth in Indonesia make Mayapada International Bank followed existing economic growth, however this is not accompanied by the increase of employees in the company. This makes researchers interested to seeing is the influence of self esteem on job performance in the Mayapada International Bank. Researchers distributed questionnaires to 185 participants (male=87, female=98). The participants was an employee of the Mayapada international Bank who already have a working period of more than one year. Self esteem was measured by Self esteem scale by Heatherton & Polivy (1991) with Performance self esteem aspect, social self esteem aspect, and Physical self esteem aspect. Job performance was measured by job performance scale by Manurung (2011). Test results from multiple linear indicates that performance self esteem, social self esteem, and physical self esteem doesn’t affect the job performance because it has significant value > 0,05.
