Abstract
This documentary tells the story of the activities of blacksmith craftsmen at the blacksmith center in Padas Village, Karanganom District, Klaten Regency, Central Java. Faced with the challenges of development in the era of modernization in passing down culture, blacksmith craftsmen are trying to innovate in the creation of the products they produce so that they are able to survive to this day. In the process of making a documentary film entitled "Pande Wesi Your Face Kini" there were three stages that the author went through, namely pre-production, production and post-production. In this applicable work, the author acts as an editor who is responsible for editing videos. The first step that must be taken is editing or collecting video material that has been taken or recorded during the shooting process. Next, the author arranges the images according to the order stated in the previously created manuscript. After that, the author applies effects and balances the colors of the images that are not in harmony so that they become more harmonious and processes the sound to ensure that the resulting video has continuity and optimal quality. The author uses the concept of Continuity editing with the aim of creating a smooth flow when switching from one shot to another and creating continuity between scenes so as to provide a more comfortable audience experience. Keywords : Documentary Film, Image Thread, Pande Wesi Your Face Now, Continuity Editing Film dokumenter ini menceritakan tentang kegiatan pengrajin pandai besi di sentra Pandai Besi Desa Padas, Kecamatan Karanganom, Kabupaten Klaten Jawa Tengah. Dengan dihadapkan pada tantangan perkembangan di era modernisasi dalam mewariskan budaya, para pengrajin pandai besi berupaya untuk berinovasi terhadap penciptaan produk yang dihasilkan sehingga mereka mampu bertahan hingga saat ini. Dalam proses pembuatan film dokumenter berjudul "Pande Wesi Wajahmu Kini" terdapat tiga tahap yang penulis dilalui yakni pra produksi, produksi, dan pasca produksi. Dalam karya aplikatif ini penulis berperan sebagai editor yang bertanggung jawab dalam menyunting video. Langkah pertama yang harus dilakukan yaitu menyunting atau mengumpulkan materi video yang telah diambil atau direkam pada proses shooting. Selanjutnya penulis melakukan penyusunan gambar sesuai dengan urutan yang tertera dalam naskah yang sudah dibuat sebelumnya. Setelah itu penulis memberikan efek dan melakukan keseimbangan warna gambar yang tidak selaras agar dapat menjadi lebih selaras dan pengolahan suara untuk memastikan bahwa video yang dihasilkan memiliki kesinambungan dan kualitas yang optimal. Penulis menggunakan konsep Continuity editing dengan maksud menciptakan alur yang halus saat beralih dari satu shot ke shot lainnya dan menciptakan kesinambungan antar adegan sehingga memberikan pengalaman penonton lebih nyaman.
