Abstract
In the era of technological development and pop culture, animated films have a significant role in shaping children's perceptions of social values and norms. This research examines one of Disney's animated films entitled "Turning Red" with the story of a teenage girl who experiences puberty unrest between filial piety by obeying her mother's wishes or the teenage desires of her friends. The purpose of this study is to describe the meaning of parenting messages contained in the animated film "Turning Red". Parenting is basically divided into 3 types, namely authoritative, authoritarian, and permissive. In addition, there is also a Chinese parenting pattern called tiger parenting. This parenting pattern has similarities with authoritarian, but the tiger parenting type applies a harsher attitude and also discipline to children. This research uses a constructivist paradigm, with a qualitative approach and Peirce's semiotic analysis method which consists of three important aspects or triangle meaning. The unit of analysis is 11 scenes that contain the meaning of parenting messages then broken down using three aspects of Cinematographic elements including; Artistic, Cinematic and Narrative. The results of the study divided the scene of the parenting message into three categories, namely Artistic, Cinematic and Narrative. In the artistic element, the meaning of the parenting message is marked through background elements, costumes and props. Cinematic elements are marked using close ups and medium shots. Narrative elements are represented through dialog and facial expressions. Keywords: movie, parenting, message, semiotics, peirce, cinematic Dalam era perkembangan teknologi dan budaya pop, film animasi memiliki peran yang signifikan dalam membentuk persepsi anak terhadap nilai-nilai dan norma-norma sosial. Penelitian ini meneliti salah film animasi Disney yang berjudul “Turning Red” dengan kisah seorang remaja perempuan yang mengalami pubertas keresahan antara berbakti dengan menuruti keinginan ibunya atau keinginan masa remaja teman-temannya. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan makna pesan pola asuh orang yang terdapat dalam film animasi “Turning Red” Pola asuh pada dasarnya dibagi menjadi 3 jenis yaitu otoritatif (authoritative), otoritarian (authoritarian), permisif (permissive). Selain itu terdapat juga pola pengasuhan orang tua Tionghoa yang disebut dengan tiger parenting. Pola asuh ini memiliki persamaan dengan authoritarian, namun tipe pola pengasuhan tiger parenting menerapkan sikap lebih keras dan juga disiplin kepada anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivitis, dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode anaslisis semiotika Peirce yang terdiri dari tiga aspek penting atau triangle meaning. Adapun unit analisisnya terdapat 11 scene yang berisi makna pesan pola asuh orang tua kemudian dipecah menggunakan tiga aspek dari elemen Sinematografi meliputi; Artistik, Sinematik dan Naratif. Hasil penelitian membagi scene adegan pesan pola asuh orang tua menjadi tiga kategori yaitu Artistik, Sinematik dan Naratif. Pada unsur artistik makna pesan pola asuh ditandai melalui elemen latar, kostum dan properti. Unsur Sinematik ditandai menggunakan close up dan medium shot. Unsur naratif direpresentasikan melalui dialog dan juga ekspresi wajah. Kata kunci : film, pengasuhan, pesan, semiotika, peirce, sinematik
