Abstract
Social media itself is a mass media technology that is a place for disseminating information and publications. Utilization of social media is not only used by individuals but also by organizations/companies. One institution that utilizes social media as a publication medium is the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara (MACAN). The purpose of this research is to find out how the social media account @museummacan is used as a publication media for tourist destinations. Using qualitative research methods, researchers use the post-positivism paradigm as a reference in the research they conduct. The theory used in this study is the theory of new media and is supported by the concept of public relations, the concept of publication, and Instagram. The results of this study clearly indicate that the utilization of social media through the Instagram account @museummacan has successfully become a beneficial means for promoting tourist destinations. Keywords: Social Media, Instagram, Publication Media, and Tourist Destinations Media sosial sendiri merupakan sebuah teknologi media massa yang menjadi wadah penyebaran informasi serta publikasi. Pemanfaatan media sosial tidak hanya digunakan oleh individu namun juga oleh organisasi / perusahaan. Salah satu lembaga yang memanfaatkan media sosial sebagai media publikasi yaitu Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara (Museum MACAN). Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah mencari tahu bagaimana pemanfaatam media sosial akun @museummacan sebagai media publikasi destinasi wisata. Menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif peneliti memakai paradigma postpositivisme sebagai acuan dalam penelitian yang dilakukan. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori media baru dan didukung oleh konsep Public relations, konsep publikasi, dan Instagram. Hasil penelitian ini jelas terlihat bahwa pemanfaatan media sosial melalui akun Instagram @museummacan telah berhasil menjadi sarana yang bermanfaat dalam mempublikasikan destinasi wisata.
