Abstract
The rapid development of education in Indonesia is increasingly competitive make several public schools improve the quality of education services / services in order to remain the most favorite school among other public schools. SMAN 6 Kota Tangerang is determined to keep improving its performance in order to maintain reputation both in the eyes of the internal and external public. To make things happen This requires good communication skills from the leadership and supported by the excellent performance of the school community. Success in the discipline of an educational institution or school cannot be separated from the relationship between the Principal and the teachers as the teaching staff. The quality discipline of teacher is influenced by several factors, one of which is the leadership style of communication. This study aims to determine the effect of communication styles on the quality of discipline of teachers at SMAN 6 Kota Tangerang by using the theoretical foundation of human relations that is relevant to the information environment, total amount, obscurity of information, rules, guidelines for analysis, cycles, actions, responses, adjustments. And using human relations theory that is relevant to the relationship style of communication carried out by the principal as the leader through formal and informal communication to teachers in the organization to improve the quality of discipline. This type of research is explanative with a quantitative approach. The method used was a survey, with a total population of 61 respondents (total sampling) and accompanied by non-probability sampling, techniques analysis of correlation test and regression test. In this study the research hypothesis is "there is an effect of communication style on the quality of discipline of teachers at SMAN 6 Kota Tangerang.” The results showed that the variable of communication style had a strong influence on the quality of discipline of teachers at SMAN 6 Kota Tangerang. Keywords: Organizational Communication, Communication Style, Quality of Discipline. Pesatnya perkembangan pendidikan di Indonesia yang semakin kompetitif membuat beberapa sekolah negeri meningkatkan kualitas layanan/jasa pendidikan agar tetap menjadi sekolah terfavorit diantara sekolah negri yang lain. SMAN 6 Kota Tangerang bertekat untuk tetap meningkatkan kinerjanya demi menjaga reputasinya baik dimata publik internal maupun eksternal. Untuk mewujudkan hal tersebut diperlukan kemampuan komunikasi yang baik dari pimpinan dan didukung oleh kinerja yang sangat baik dari warga sekolah. Keberhasilan dalam kedisiplinan suatu lembaga pendidikan atau sekolah tidak terlepas dari hubungan antara Kepala Sekolah dan para guru sebagai tenanga pengajarnya. Kualitas kedisiplinan guru dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor salah satunya gaya komunikasi pemimpin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh gaya komunikasi terhadap kualitas kedisiplinan guru SMAN 6 Kota Tangerang dengan menggunakan landasan teori hubungan manusia yang relevan dengan lingkungan informasi, jumlah total, ketidakjelasan informasi, aturan, panduan untuk menganalisis, siklus, tindakan, respons, penyesuaian. Dan menggunakan teori hubungan manusia yang relevan dengan hubungan gaya komunikasi yang dilakukan oleh Kepala Sekolah selaku pimpinan melalui komunikasi formal dan informal kepada guru dalam organisasi untuk meningkatkan kualitas kedisiplinan. Tipe penelitian ini adalah eksplanatif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei, dengan jumlah populasi 61 responden (total Sampling) dan disertai teknik non-probability sampling, teknik analisis uji korelasi dan uji regresi. Dalam penelitian ini hipotesis penelitian adalah “ada pengaruh gaya komunikasi terhadap kualitas kedisiplinan guru SMAN 6 Kota Tangerang.” Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa variabel gaya komunikasi berpengaruh cukup kuat terhadap kualitas kedisiplinan guru SMAN 6 Kota Tangerang.
