Abstract

Instagram social media has become an inseparable part of the lives of Indonesian people, especially among teenagers, According to the author, teenagers generally use Instagram to celebrate important events, share everyday moments, connect with friends and family, Most of the teenagers are active Those who use Instagram want to look good and present their ideal self-image on their social media profiles. This study uses the theory of self-disclosure and the Johari Window there are four parts, namely Open Self, Blind Self, Hidden Self, Unknown Self. The paradigm used in this research is constructivist with descriptive qualitative method. The informants in this study were three students from various universities and fields. The three sources are aware that currently expressing themselves on Instagram social media, they must be careful so as not to cause negative things to others. On Instagram social media, the three sources in expressing themselves on Instagram social media are limited by the privacy they maintain, such as posting good or good things to share with their followers. Keywords : Self Disclosure, Instagram, Collage Student, New Media Media sosial instagram telah menjadi bagian yang tak bisa lepas dari kehidupan masyarakat Indonesia terutama di kalangan remaja, Menurut penulis para remaja umumnya menggunakan Instagram untuk merayakan peristiwa-peristiwa penting, berbagi momen sehari-hari, terhubung dengan teman dan keluarga, Sebagian besar remaja yang aktif menggunakan instagram ingin terlihat baik dan menampilkan citra diri idealnya di profil media sosial mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Pengungkapan diri dan Johari Window terdapat empat bagian yaitu Open Self, Blind Self, Hidden Self, Unknown Self . Paradigma yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah konstruktivis dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Informan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah tiga mahasiswa dari bermacam-macam universitas dan bidang. ketiga narasumber tersebut sadar bahwa saat ini mengungkapan diri di media sosial instagram tersebut harus hati-hati agar tidak menimbulkan hal yang negatif kepada orang lain. Pada media sosial Instagram ketiga narasumber dalam mengungkapkan diri di media sosial instagram dibatasi oleh privasi yang mereka jaga, seperti memposting yang bagus atau baik saja untuk dibagikan kepada followersnya.
