Abstract

This study aims to determine Relationship between social support and resilience of drug addicts who are currently in rehabilitation. Respondents of this study were 160 former drug users who were being rehabilitated. The measuring tool used to measure social support in this study is the measuring tool The Social Provision Scale developed by Cutrona and Russell (1987) which has been adapted from Putra's research (2015), and the resilience measurement tool is the Resilience Quotient (RQ) that has been adapted. Pribastuti (2011) based on a measuring instrument developed by Reivich and Shatte (2002). Both of these measuring instruments have a reliability value of 0.803 for the social support variable and 0.826 for the resilience variable. Data analysis used the average value (mean), standard deviation, and Product moment correlation technique. The results of this study indicated that there was a positive relationship which led to the results of 0.583 (r = .583; P = 0.000). It means that if drug addicts who are being rehabilitated have high social support, then their resilience is high, and vice versa if their social support is low, their resilience is low.
