Abstract
long with the times in the era of globalization and technological advances, the emergence of inexhaustible objects (waste) is then often used for certain purposes, such as the field of building materials engineering, where these wastes have been studied before. One of the wastes that can be used as a concrete mixture is palm oil boiler ash and Silica fume. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using palm kernel shell boiler ash as a substitute for cement in concrete with the addition of Silica fume. The variations of cement replacement are 0%, 1.5%, 3%, 4.5% and 6% respectively. From the research results, it was found that the workability test of the 6% percentage variation of 65 mm did not meet the slump plan. The optimum compressive strength at partial replacement of cement with boiler ash and the addition of silica fume is found in the 3% percentage variation, namely 29.57 MPa, 32.49 MPa, and 36.64 MPa at 7,14 and 28 days. The lowest value is found in the 0% variation, namely 22.42 MPa, 27.19 MPa, 30.63 MPa at 7,14 and 28 days. Comparison of the strength results of each variation that the 3% variation experienced a change from the 1.5% variation, namely 20.1%, 16.5%, 15.29% at 7.14 and 28 days. then experienced a decrease in the 4.5% variation, namely -9.5%, -3%, -2.18% at the age of 7.14 and 28 days. Keywords: Concrete, boiler ash, silica fume, workability, compressive strength Seiring perkembangan zaman di era globalisasi dan kemajuan teknologi mengakibatkan timbulnya benda-benda tak habis pakai (limbah) kemudian sering dimanfaatkan untuk keperluan tertentu, seperti bidang rekayasa bahan bangunan, yang mana limbah-limbah tersebut sudah diteliti sebelumnya. Salah satu limbah yang bisa dimanfaatkan sebagai campuran beton yaitu abu boiler kelapa sawit dan Silica fume. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan abu boiler cangkang kelapa sawit sebagai subtitusi semen pada beton dengan penambahan Silica fume. Variasi pengganti semen yaitu masing-masing 0%, 1,5%, 3%, 4,5% dan 6%. Dari hasil penelitian didapat bahwa pengujian workability variasi persentase 6% yaitu 65 mm tidak memenuhi slump rencana. Kuat tekan optimum pada pergantian sebagian semen dengan abu boiler dan penambahan silica fume terdapat pada variasi persentasi 3% yaitu 29,57 MPa, 32,49 MPa, dan 36,64 MPa pada 7,14 dan 28 hari. nilai terendah terdapat pada variasi 0 % yaitu 22,42 MPa, 27,19 MPa, 30,63 MPa pada umur 7,14 dan 28 hari. Perbandingan hasil kuat dari setiap variasi bahwa pada variasi 3% mengalami perubahan dari variasi 1,5% yaitu 20,1%, 16,5% ,15,29% pada 7,14 dan 28 hari. kemudian mengalami penurunan pada variasi 4,5% yaitu -9,5%, -3%, -2,18% pada umur 7,14 dan 28 hari.
