Abstract

Seeing the development and great enthusiasm for an independent trend, many bands express and create songs based on their ideas and disseminate their works to the public. This is related to graphic design, where the role of a graphic designer is to form an image and identity as well as being a means of communication media regarding content, messages and meaning through the visual appearance of the musical work. This design is motivated by the existence of a need for visual communication for the single of the Zirbad music group entitled Collided with the help of analytical methods through design thinking with data sources derived from direct interviews with the music group as well as several listeners from Zirbad music and data processing sources via the internet . In designing the cover for the single song, it collided with the aesthetics of sci-fi art and fantasy art with some use of warm colors and the selection of typical Middle Eastern object figures that represent a Stoner Rock genre of music wrapped in a typical Middle Eastern atmosphere. In the visual communication design media the single cover uses a visual medium in the form of an illustration or artwork to strengthen the delivery of a content, message and meaning contained in the lyrics of the song collide and build an identity image. Keywords: Design, Single, Zirbad, Stoner Rock Melihat perkembangan dan antusias yang begitu besar pada sebuah tren jalur independen, banyak kelompok – kelompok grup musik mengekspresikan dan membuat sebuah karya lagu berdasarkan gagasan mereka serta menyebarluaskan karya kepada publik. Hal tersebut berkaitan dan desain grafis yang dimana peran seorang desainer grafis guna membentuk sebuah citra dan identitas serta menjadi sebuah saran media komunikasi terhadap isi,pesan dan makna melalui tampilan visual dari karya musik tersebut. Perancangan ini dilatarbelakangi dengan adanya sebuah kebutuhan komunikasi visual untuk single kelompok grup musik Zirbad yang berjudul Terbentur dengan bantuan metode analisis melalui design thinking dengan sumber data berasal dari wawancara langsung kepada kelompok grup musik tersebut serta beberapa narasumber pendengar dari musik Zirbad serta sumber olah data melalui internet. Dalam perancangan cover untuk single lagu terbentur menerapkan estetika gaya seni sci-fi art dan fantasy art dengan beberapa penggunaan warna – warna warm dan pemilihan objek figure khas timur tengah yang merepresentasikan sebuah musik bergenre Stoner Rock dibalut dengan suasan khas timur tengah. Dalam media perancangan komunikasi visual cover single tersebut menggunakan sebuah media visual berbentuk ilustrasi atau artwork guna memperkuat penyampaian sebuah isi, pesan dan makna yang terkandung dalam lirik lagu terbentur serta membangun sebuah citra identitas.
