Abstract

Instagram has a special strength and role in shaping a person's selfrepresentation. The popularity of Rachel Vennya as an influencer has brought her content to the attention of many people. The purpose of this study was to find out audience reactions regarding Rachel Vennya's content on Instagram @rachelvennya by using reception analysis according to Stuart Hall, namely Dominant-hegemonic position, Negotiated position, and Oppositional position. The use of the constructivism paradigm in this study aims to find out how followers receive the message conveyed and can reconstruct the message. This study uses reception analysis method with a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews with 13 (thirteen) informants and documentation. The results of this study show that in both Rachel Vennya content on Instagram @rachelvennya there were informants in the Dominant-hegemonic position, Negotiated position and Oppositional position category. Broadly speaking, the informants' opinions show that each of Rachel Vennya's content has a parallel understanding between followers and what Rachel conveys and coincidentally is also liked by the selected informants in this study, so that it can be said that Rachel has content on her Instagram with a positive perception. Keywords: Reception Analysis, Instagram, Rachel Vennya Instagram mempunyai kekuatan dan peran khusus dalam membentuk representasi diri seseorang. Popularitas Rachel Vennya sebagai influencer telah membuat kontennya menjadi perhatian banyak orang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui reaksi khalayak terkait konten Rachel Vennya dalam Instagram @rachelvennya dengan menggunakan analisis resepsi menurut Stuart Hall yaitu Dominant-hegemonic position, Negotiated position, dan Oppositional position. Penggunaan paradigma kontruktivisme dalam penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana followers menerima pesan yang disampaikan serta dapat mengkonstruksi ulang pesan tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis resepsi dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam (depth interview) kepada 13 (tigabelas) informan dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pada kedua konten Rachel Vennya dalam Instagram @rachelvennya terdapat informan berada dalam kategori Dominant-hegemonic position, Negotiated position serta Oppositional position. Secara garis besar pendapat informan menunjukkan bahwa setiap konten Rachel Vennya memiliki pemahaman sejalan antara followers dengan apa yang disampaikan Rachel dan secara kebetulan juga disukai oleh informan yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini, sehingga dapat dikatakan jika Rachel memiliki konten di Instagramnya dengan persepsi yang positif.
