Abstract

Interpersonal communication between parents and children is needed to build adolescent self-confidence. The better the communication that exists between children and parents, the more self-confidence of children will increase. This study aims to determine the application of interpersonal communication between single parents and children in building adolescent self-confidence. This research is a qualitative research with data collection by interviewing research informants, namely parents and adolescents. The results showed that interpersonal communication can be done by paying attention to attitude creates an attitude that can accept other people's input and is willing to convey important information to others so that there is a willingness to disclose information, empathy, a person's ability to understand what other people experience, feel what other people feel and can understand things from other people's perspectives other. attitude of support Open and empathic communication cannot take place in an atmosphere that is not supportive, positive attitude First, interpersonal communication is fostered if people have a positive attitude towards themselves, and equality Equality includes placing oneself on a par with others, realizing the importance of the presence of others , do not impose their will, two-way communication, as well as a friendly and comfortable atmosphere of communication Keywords: Interpersonal Communication, Confidence, Openness, Empathy, Positive Attitude, Equality Komunikasi interpersonal antara orang tua dan anak diperlukan untuk membangun kepercayaan diri remaja. Semakin baik komunikasi yang terjalin antara anak dan orang tua maka akan semakin meningkat kepercayaan diri anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan komunikasi interpersonal orang tua tunggal dengan anak dalam membangun kepercayaan diri remaja. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pengambilan data dengan wawancara kepada informan penelitian yaitu orang tua dan remaja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi interpersonal dapat dilakukan dengan memperhatikan sikap keterbukaan Sikap yang bisa menerima masukan orang lain serta berkenan menyampaikan informasi penting kepada orang lain sehingga adanya kesediaan membuka diri untuk mengungkapkan informasi, empati Kemampuan seseorang untuk memahami apa yang dialami orang lain, merasakan apa yang dirasakan orang lain dan dapat memahami sesuatu persoalan dari sudut pandang orang lain. sikap mendukung Komunikasi yang terbuka dan empatik tidak dapat berlangsung dalam suasana yang tidak mendukung, sikap positif Pertama, komunikasi antarpribadi terbina jika orang memiliki sikap positif terhadap diri mereka sendiri, dan kesetaraan Kesetaraan meliputi penempatan diri setara dengan orang lain, menyadari akan pentingnya kehadiran orang lain, tidak memaksa kehendak, komunikasi dilakukan dua arah, serta suasana komunikasi yang akrab dan nyaman.
