Abstract
PT. Paragon Technology and Innovation is a manufacturing company in the local cosmetics sector which is included in the ranks of the largest cosmetic companies in Indonesia. In the period January – December 2020, the company produced 2,609,006 pcs of Emina products and had 28,860 defective products. The product quality control process in this company is still not good enough to produce products that are not in accordance with the standards set by the company itself. This of course can be detrimental to the company if this continues. Therefore, repairs are needed to reduce product defects during production. The methods used in this research are DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) methods. By using this method, improvements to reduce defects in Emina Sun Protection SPF 30 products are carried out by carrying out preventive maintenance, supervising operators and checking the temperature of the machines used. Paragon Technology and Innovation adalah perusahaan manufaktur dibidang kosmetik lokal yang termasuk ke dalam jajaran perusahaan kosmetik terbesar di Indonesia. Pada periode Januari – Desember 2020 perusahaan memproduksi produk emina sebanyak 2.609.006 pcs dan memiliki produk defect sebanyak 28.860 pcs. Proses pengendalian kualitas pada produk di perusahaan ini masih kurang baik sehingga perusahaan tersebut masih menghasilkan produk yang tidak sesuai dengan standar yang sudah ditentukan oleh perusahaan itu sendiri. Hal tersebut tentunya bisa merugikan perusahaan jika hal tersebut terus dibiarkan. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukannya perbaikan untuk mengurangi defect produk pada saat produksi. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu metode DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) dan FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis). Dengan menggunakan metode tersebut diusulkan perbaikan untuk mengurangi defect pada produk Emina Sun Protection SPF 30 yaitu dengan melakukan preventive maintenance, melakukan pengawasan kepada operator dan melakukan pengecekan terhadap suhu mesin yang digunakan.
