Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explain and examine the effect of social support toward self-efficacy of life insurance agent in Jakarta. These variables are selfefficacy and social support. The type of research used in this study is quantitative correlational. Subjects in this study were life insurance agent who has lisence from Asosiasi Asuransi Jiwa Indonesia (AAJI). The total of respondents in this study was 230 respondents. This research was conducted on life insurance agent of several companies in Jakarta. The data retrieval technique used is non-random sampling. Data were collected through two measuring tools, namely General Self-Efficacy Scale (10 items) from Ralf Schwarzer and M. Jerusalem (1987) that already backward translated to Bahasa Indonesia and Social Provision Scale (24 items) that adopted from Cutrona dan Russell (1987) theory. The analysis technique used to test the hypothesis is Pearson correlation. The results show that social support effected 11,4% toward self-efficacy.
