Abstract

Often the experiences of our everyday structures can be described as unmemorable. In most of our built environments, structures are hidden or inconspicuous. Frosted facade panels or mirrored glass panels hide the structures located around the perimeter of the building. Within a building, suspended ceilings hide beams, and vertical structural elements such as columns, cross supports, and structural walls are either sheathed or visually indistinguishable from them. Even if structures are exposed, their often predictable, repetitive configurations in plan and elevation, and the unrefined detailing of members and joints can rarely be described as 'creating architecture, its quality and delight'. The purpose of this concept of structure as architecture is to solve structural problems that we can everyday describe as unmemorable. The purpose of designing the concept of structure as architecture is to discuss the selection of the type of structure, the determination of elements related to the structure as aesthetics. Keyword : Architecture, Structure As architecture, Mixed-Use Building Seringkali pengalaman struktur yang kita sehari-hari dapat digambarkan sebagai tidak dapat diingat. Di sebagian besar lingkungan buatan kami, struktur tersembunyi atau tidak mencolok. Panel fasad buram atau panel kaca cermin menyembunyikan struktur yang terletak di sekeliling bangunan. Di dalam bangunan, plafon gantung menyembunyikan balok, dan elemen struktural vertikal seperti kolom, penyangga silang, dan dinding struktural diselimuti dinding partisi atau secara visual tidak dapat dibedakan darinya. Bahkan jika struktur diekspos, seringkali konfigurasinya yang berulang dan dapat diprediksi dalam denah dan elevasi, serta perincian anggota dan sambungannya yang tidak dimurnikan jarang dapat digambarkan sebagai 'menciptakan arsitektur, kualitas dan kegembiraannya'. Maksud konsep struktur sebagai arsitektur ini adalah menyelesaikan permasalahan struktur yang kita sehari-hari dapat digambarkan sebagai tidak dapat diingat. Tujuan dari perancangan konsep struktur sebagai arsitektur ini adalah membahas pemilihan jenis struktur, penentuan elemen elemen yang berkaitan dengan struktur sebagai estetika.
