Abstract
The Islamic Center is a space where the activities of the Islamic community take place. The Islamic Center in Indonesia was not born alone. It was developed from western countries to accommodate Islamic activities such as prayers, religious lectures, and other activities related to Islam. The Islamic center is a center for Islamic coaching and development activities that aims to improve the quality of the people in various activities. Therefore we need an institution that can accommodate the activities of the people from worship to buying and selling in life. The design of this Islamic center also tries to respond to problems in existing conditions such as lack of maintenance of buildings, not maximizing existing land and issues that often become polemics in Islamic centers. Issues and polemics circulating, most of these institutions are under the auspices of local government regulations which make the operational costs of the institution depend on government revenue. Therefore this design aims apart from being the center of Islam as well as solving the polemic of issues that occur with the concept of tropical architectural design to respond to where the climate in this country tends to have 2 seasons, namely the rainy and hot seasons with this mass being designed to have an approach with tropical building characteristics with the roof having a canopy and building materials that can respond to the thermal comfort of the building and users. Keywords : Islamic Center, Tropical Architecture Islamic Center adalah ruang dimana kegiatan ummat islam berlangsung. Islamic Center di Indonesia tidak lahir sendiri. Ia dikembangkan dari negara negara barat untuk menampung kegiatan islami seperti sholat, ceramah agama, dan kegiatan lainnya yang behubungan dengan ke-Islaman. Islamic center merupakan pusat kegiatan pembinaan dan pengembangan keislaman yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas umat dalam berbagai macam kegiatan. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan suatu lembaga yang dapat mewadahi kegiatan umat dari peribadahan sampai jual-beli dalam berkehidupan. Perancangan Islamic center ini juga mencoba merespon permasalahan pada keadaan eksisting seperti kurangnya perawatan terhadap bangunan, kurang memaksimalkan lahan yang ada dan isu-isu yang sering menjadi polemik dalam Islamic center. Isu-isu dan polemik yg beredar kebanyakan lembaga ini bernaung di bawah peraturan pemerintah setempat yang mana menjadikan biaya operasional lembaga bergantung pada pendapatan pemerintah. Oleh karena itu perancanga ini bertujuan selain menjadi pusat keislaman juga untuk memecahkan polemik isu-isu yang terjadi dengan konsep perancangan asrsitektur tropis untuk merespon dimana iklim dinegara ini cenderung memiliki 2 musim yaitu musim hujan dan panas dengan ini massa yang dirancang memiliki pendekatan dengan ciri bangunan tropis dengan atap memili tajuk serta material bangunan yang dapat merespon kenyamana termal pada bangunan dan pengguna.
