Abstract

Running shoes are a type of footwear (footwear) which usually consists of upper, midsole and outsole components. Pes planus, also known as flat foot, is a medical condition in which the curvature of the medial longitudinal arch is flatter than normal and the sole of the foot is almost or completely in contact with the ground. This type of flat foot or "flat foot" is a condition in which the sole of the foot is flat and flat from toe to heel, without any indentation at the base of the foot. Flat foot can cause a variety of symptoms such as pain and discomfort in the feet, pain in the knees, hips and back. Some of the problems that are felt by owners of flat foot such as flat foot overpronation which causes tension and pain, tendinitis (inflammation of the tendons) in the ankles and knees, shin splints (acute pain that can occur in the shins when running) , tend to experience bunions (bone lumps which form at the joint at the base of the big toe) and calluses (a rough, thickened area of skin on the sole of the foot) due to frequent friction. Based on the existing problems, namely flat foot, it is necessary to do research to design shoes that are suitable for flat-footed owners in order to provide safety and comfort for flat-footed owners. In this research and design, observation and sample testing were carried out on the owners of flat feet. After that, making a design sample according to the problem and selecting the shoe material according to the needs. Then a shoe wear test was carried out by a flat foot tester. In the research and development of this design, designs were carried out on the midsole top, midsole bottom, and the addition of a middle medial torsion and an external heel counter, the use of a boa lacing system material, and the addition of 2 lateral medial collar padding. It is hoped that this research and shoe design can provide shoe recommendations for owners of flat feet. Keywords: Shoes, Flat Foot, Design, Material Sepatu lari adalah suatu jenis alas kaki (footwear) yang biasanya terdiri dari komponen upper, midsole, dan outsole. Pes planus atau yang biasa disebut dengan flat foot adalah kondisi medis dimana kelengkungan arkus longitudinal medial lebih datar dari biasanya dan keseluruhan telapak kaki hampir atau lengkap menyentuh dengan tanah. Jenis kaki datar atau “flat foot” ini adalah suatu kondisi di mana telapak kaki bersifat datar dan rata dari ujung kaki hingga tumit, tanpa adanya lekukan pada dasar kaki. Kaki datar dapat menyebabkan berbagai gejala seperti nyeri dan ketidaknyamanan pada kaki, nyeri pada lutut, pinggul, dan punggung. Beberapa masalah yang dirasakan bagi pemilik kaki datar seperti overpronasi flat foot yang menyebabkan ketegangan dan nyeri, tendinitis (radang tendon) di pergelangan kaki dan lutut, shin splints (nyeri akut yang dapat terjadi pada tulang kering saat berlari), cenderung mengalami bunion (benjolan tulang yang terbentuk pada persendian di pangkal jempol kaki) dan kapalan (area kulit yang kasar dan menebal di telapak kaki) karena sering terjadinya gesekan. Berdasarkan permasalahan yang ada yaitu kaki datar untuk itu perlu dilakukan riset untuk membuat perancangan sepatu yang sesuai untuk pemilik telapak kaki datar supaya memberikan keamanan dan kenyamanan bagi pemilik telapak kaki datar. Dalam penelitian dan perancangan ini dilakukan observasi dan pengujian sample terhadap pemilik telapak kaki datar. Setelah itu pembuatan sampel rancangan yang sesuai dengan masalah dan pemilihan material bahan sepatu yang sesui dengan kebutuhan. Kemudian dilakukan uji pemakaian sepatu yang dilakukan oleh tester pemilik telapak kaki datar. Dalam penelitian dan pembuatan desain ini dilakukan perancangan desain pada midsole top, midsole bottom, dan penambahan middle medial torsion dan heel counter external, penggunaan material boa lacing system, dan penambahan collar padding 2 lateral medial. Diharapkan dengan penelitian dan perancangan sepatu ini dapat memberikan rekomendasi sepatu untuk pemilik telapak kaki datar. Kata Kunci : Sepatu, Flat Foot, Desain, Material
