Abstract

PT Propan Raya ICC is a manufacturing company engaged in chemical coatings with the main product being paint. In the Dry Sample devision there is a problem, namely there is a defect in the production process of GEMINI paint promotional material, this study aims to determain the type of defect and the cause of the highest dafect in the painting result of GEMINI paint promotional materials, and provide recommendations for improvement using the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Action) method. Based on the analysis carried out, it is know that the defect of the dirty paint film layer is the highest defect with a precentage of 62.5 % with the main causes including not filtering the paint matherial before the painting process, the absence of a walter filter on the spray gun aplication toll and the condition of open storage shelves and a poor environment. Dusty and dirty. By analyzing the repair using the PDCA method, the result of the improvement are obtained by filtering by the paint material before the painting process, installing a filter tool on the aplication tool and modifying the storage rack by installing a cover and blower to minimize the dust that is in the storage area of the painting result of GEMINI paint promotional materials. Keywords : PDCA, Quality, Defect,Fishbone Diagram PT Propan Raya adalah perusahaan manufaktur yang bergerak pada bidang coating chemical dengan produk utama yaitu cat. Pada devisi Sampel Kering terdapat sebuah permasalahan yaitu terdapat defect pada proses produksi materi promosi cat GEMINI, hal tersebut menjadi kendala dalam memenuhi permintaan material promosi cat GEMINI. Dengan adanya permasalahan tersebut maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis defect dan penyebab defect tertinggi pada hasil pengecatan materi promosi cat GEMINI, serta memberikan rekomendasi perbaikan dengan metode PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Action). Berdasarkan analisa yang dilakukan diketahui bahwa defect lapisan film cat kotor adalah defect tertinggi dengan persentase 62.5 % dengan penyebab utama diantaranya tidak dilakukan penyaringan pada material cat sebelum proses pengecatan, tidak adanya filter air pada alat aplikasi spray gun dan kondisi rak penyimpanan yang terbuka serta lingkungan yang berdebu dan kotor. Dengan analisa perbaikan menggunakan metode PDCA maka didapat hasil perbaikan dengan cara melakukan penyaringan material cat sebelum proses pengecatan, memasang alat filter pada alat aplikasi dan memodifikasi rak penyimpanan dengan memasang penutup serta blower untuk meninimalisir bedu yang ada pada area rak penyimpanan hasil pengecatan materi promosi cat GEMINI.
