Abstract

This research is motivated by a skincare review content on the YouTube account of Dr Richard Lee, MARS. He made skincare review content to expose the ingredients in skincare circulating in the community, but the review content caused controversy, the review content he did caused controversy from many parties who felt aggrieved accusing him of ruining his cosmetic business, but the content was also considered as content that educated the public. The research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research method, a research method based on the philosophy of post-positivism paradigm used and the method used in this study using descriptive method aims to describe the problem as it is. The reason researchers choose this approach and method is to describe various sources of data and information both from various expert opinions and based on observations of interview results that can be used as data that can help in this study. The results of this study, there are many similarities given about the content of dr. Richard Lee, MARS where the informants can interpret the message from dr. Richard Lee's youtube channel, MARS very well, in which the informants strongly believe in the education carried out by dr. Richard Lee, MARS because the education he does has an impact on the informants based on the Cognitive, Affective, Conative characteristics of dr. Richard Lee's Youtube account, MARS. Keywords: dr richard lee, skincare, beauty, YouTube, education Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh sebuah konten review skincare di akun YouTube dr Richard Lee, MARS. Ia membuat konten me-review skincare untuk membongkar kandungan-kandungan dalam skincare yang beredar di masyarakat, tetapi konten review tersebut menimbulkan kontroversi, konten review yang ia lakukan tersebut menimbulkan kontroversi dari banyak pihak yang merasa dirugikan menudingnya merusak bisnis kosmetiknya, namun konten tersebut juga dianggap sebagai konten yang mengedukasi masyarakat. Penelitian memakai pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian deskriptif metode penelitian yang berlandaskan pada filsafat pradigma post positivisme yang digunakan dan metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan masalah sebagaimana adanya. Alasan peneliti memilih pendekatan dan metode ini mendeskripsikan berbagai sumber data dan informasi baik itu dari berbagai pendapat ahli dan berdasarkan observasi hasil wawancara yang dapat dijadikan sebagai suatu data yang dapat membantu dalam penelitian ini. Hasil dari penelitian ini, banyak sekali kesaman yang di berikan mengenai konten dr. Richard Lee, MARS di mana para Informan tersebut dapat menginterpretasikan pesan dari channel youtube dr. Richard Lee, MARS dengan sangat baik, yang di mana para informan sangat percaya mengenai edukasi yang di lakukan oleh dr. Richard Lee, MARS karena edukasi yang ia lakukan memberikan dampak bagi para informan berdasarkan sifat Kognitif, Afektif, Konatif yang di miliki pada akun Youtube dr. Richard Lee, MARS.
