Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of profitability, firm size and independent commissioner on Financial Distress which is proxied by Altman Z Score. The object of this research is the sub-sector company of automotive and the components listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange in 2014-2019. This research was conducted using a sample of 10 selected companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange. Determination of the sample using a purposive sampling method with criteria determined by researchers using a causal relationship design. Therefore, the analysis of the data used is statistical analysis in the form of multiple linear regression tests. The result of this study note that Profitability (ROE) variable does have an effect on Financial Distress. While the Firm Size and the Independent Commissioner variable does not have an effect on Financial Distress. Keywords: ROE, SIZE, KOMI, and FINDIS. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh profitabilitas, ukuran perusahaan dan komisaris independen terhadap financial distress yang diproksi dengan Altman Z Score. Objek penelitian ini adalah perusahaan subsektor otomotif dan komponennya yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2014–2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel sebanyak 10 perusahaan terpilih yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Penentuan sampel menggunakan metode purposive sampling dengan kriteria yang telah ditentukan peneliti menggunakan desain hubungan kausal. Karena itu, analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis statistik dalam bentuk uji regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian ini diketahui bahwa variabel Profitabilitas berpengaruh terhadap Financial Distress. Sedangkan variabel Ukuran Perusahaan dan Komisaris Independen tidak berpengaruh terhadap Financial Distress. Kata Kunci: ROE, SIZE, KOMI, dan FINDIS.
